Abundance fuels innovation! More people with food and housing secured, have time to study and learn… imagine how many Einsteins had to plow the dirt. Scarcity suck.
bad idea. let legs rest between workouts to increase muscle growth.
Imagine where we would be without nostr:npub180cvv07tjdrrgpa0j7j7tmnyl2yr6yr7l8j4s3evf6u64th6gkwsyjh6w6
Isn’t it wild how the universe releases ideas exactly when the world needs them most?
With #nostr at this time and from the country that needs it most.
More people discovered basically the same thing on their own. I did, people I spoke to had same kind of thoughts… I even spent time coding it…. simply put it was an idea whos time had come: https://github.com/baumbit/treebit
Indeed they did make a mistake there. The proper way is to modularize it further.
Id argue that the Note scheme is the product. Most of the rest is only transport layer and doesn’t really scale yet.
Can you believe I invented this before Nostr even existed? I programmed the whole shebang and uploaded it here: https://github.com/baumbit/treebit Hopefully one day #peercuration will be integrated into Nostr.
you are correct; the relays will be attacked.
the ask yourself
what is valuable for others?
together we do #peercuration https://github.com/baumbit/peercuration?tab=readme-ov-file#peercuration and solve both the spam problem AND decentralize the relays.
I would love to see these kinds of “filter / sorting / curation” algos be scriptable, so that people can experiment, open different tabs with different algos, and play around to see what yeilds good result #FOSS
Simple centralized solution… imagine if all of us do this, all of the time, in the background… #peercuration a spam protection modeled after how real life social graphs works.
Guy is surfing the bleeding edge here. I DM #primal with this feature request: “Feature Request: Your relay could create “crowd curated feeds” using public Nostr data. By combining a users follow list with the followed users followed list and combine it with Zaps and Likes, you can create feeds and “reply trees” with super high quality.”

We can leverage the web of trust by creating a crowd based decentralized sorting function called #peercuration A bonus it that it will help solve the issue with centralized relays: https://github.com/baumbit/peercuration?tab=readme-ov-file#peercuration
I know you read it before, but maybe if you read it again maybe it will click at a deeper level? We can fight back using #peercuration https://github.com/baumbit/peercuration?tab=readme-ov-file#peercuration
Someday people will understand that #peercuration will solve this issue. But right now people dont. Pain seems to be required.
I think that nostr:npub1v5ufyh4lkeslgxxcclg8f0hzazhaw7rsrhvfquxzm2fk64c72hps45n0v5 by nostr:npub1unmftuzmkpdjxyj4en8r63cm34uuvjn9hnxqz3nz6fls7l5jzzfqtvd0j2 is the first app to be better than any other app out there, BECAUSE it is a nostr app.
I don't care about rando-commentors under YouTube videos, AirBNB stays or Amazon products.
But I do care about what the people I follow think. That is why I follow them.
Tying what was once walled gardens of comments, to one main social graph I think is one of those innovations where the lowering of friction passes a tipping point.
I want to talk to nostr:npub1a2cww4kn9wqte4ry70vyfwqyqvpswksna27rtxd8vty6c74era8sdcw83a about a nostr:npub1n5r9lpxqewnmpmux7hfdz40xecq30z52x0sef7vend6f0vdjyqds020ngn podcast, or nostr:npub1sg6plzptd64u62a878hep2kev88swjh3tw00gjsfl8f237lmu63q0uf63m about The Rest Is History, or nostr:npub1l2vyh47mk2p0qlsku7hg0vn29faehy9hy34ygaclpn66ukqp3afqutajft about Linux Unplugged.
I also want to find new people to follow, and the comments under a podcast that really inspired me is a great place to fine new follow.

this is why #perrcuration will work. its how we function in normal everyday life.
Believing in doG is irrational.
The transport layer in Nostr is just a taxi to the party.
Take the taxi, take the train, what ever turns you on… mathematical constructs doesn’t moralize.
The reason hierarchical control structures tend to devolve into control by force, is that it is an inherently unstable graph with clear competitive vector. Basically people digging their own tombs in an upside down pyramid, shedding their soul and the lackluster shade of heavy red stones.
Having accurately predicted the future of social media + the attacks and having developed a strong mitigation tech, its downright frustrating to realize so few “gets it”.
