Right, it's 2 orders of magnitude slower than syncing over clearnet. Not exactly a good user experience.
Syncing a Bitcoin node over Tor isn't feasible.
Operating a Lightning node over Tor is a pretty massive fail.
I'd love to see someone do a proof of concept of running Bitcoin & Lightning nodes on the Veilid network.
If Mortal Kombat published a celebrity edition: https://v.redd.it/j6v7yu6n2phb1
If it scales and has the properties as advertised, the potential is massive for improving privacy and censorship resistance.
They had me at "it's like Tor and IPFS had sex."
Introducing Veilid: a secure peer-to-peer network for apps.
I hate my government because I love my country and I can see what the government is doing to it.
One disconcerting bit of consensus I've noticed amongst longevity experts is they seem to agree that a plant based diet is best for epigenetic health.
This is at odds with the diet recommendations of my personal trainer. Which sucks because I'm simultaneously running several epigenetic experiments alongside a bodybuilding program.
Wat do?
I had to buy a while new wardrobe 2 years ago after I lost 40 pounds.
Starting to wonder if I'll have to do it again if this bulking plan pays off...

Currently playing the elimination game of "guess which supplement has turned my farts into chemical weapons."
OK so where's a trustworthy place I can wager bitcoin that Elon gets rekt by Zuck in their fight?
Empires must fall for freedom to rise.
Why is the Federal Reserve's inflation target 2%?
Because they want inflation to be low grade theft. At 2% it takes 34 years to dilute the value of the currency by 50%.
On generational timescales, theft becomes quaint. It feels good to reminisce about "the good ol' days" when you could see a movie for a dollar or enjoy a night out on the town for 20 bucks.
Whereas when you remember being able to buy a week's worth of groceries for $100 a few years ago, the memory spurs anger and despair. This is dangerous to the overlords...
It's one thing to be skeptical of Bitcoin when you first hear about it. It's hard to believe that such an odd architecture could survive the test of time.
And yet, the folks who have by far taken the biggest L are those who were on the cypherpunks mailing list, said it would never work, and continue to deny the past 14 years of evidence to the contrary.

Adulting be like

My calendar is littered with archived snapshots of predictions by nocoiners that I expect to age like milk.
I'm praying for a bull market so that nostr:npub1cn4t4cd78nm900qc2hhqte5aa8c9njm6qkfzw95tszufwcwtcnsq7g3vle will finally be able to stock his dressing room with clothes. Maybe some nice sneakers, too!
