Makes sense. Would it be technically possible for a more privacy-focused client to seed queries with a few random requests? For example, add a few random npubs to a follow list query. The client then discards the random data received before serving the followed feed to the user. This might be analogues to padding techniques used in VPN protocols to evade DPI.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the use of a proxy provide some anonymity? Sure, relays can see everything associated to an IP, but unless the client does something to identify itself (like signing an event, AUTH, etc...), it's just data in aggregate. Can't associate it to a specific npub.

Meta/FB has pretty decent global search based on names only. Yes, it might take a minute of scrolling and profile pic scanning to find my guy, but it works. Yes, I'm aware that comparing NOSTR and Meta is apples/oranges. I'm using them to illustrate how a good, quasi global search UX should handle these cases.

If I know the npub, then what's the point of search? To me, search implies I don't already know the npub, but I might have a guess at the name.

Did you find this via search or just append my npub? My understanding was that npub.world is a social graph curated search service. By that metric, it appears broken for me and countless unlucky others who have common names.

I don't get npub.world Almost every time I search for someone I know is legit (like myself), I get nothing. Literally, some random RSS feed shows near top result for my name. Am I missing something?

Can #HAVEN relay be shared with a collection of npubs or is access restricted to a single (owner npub)? Think a small collection of mutually trusting npubs (a family, perhaps?) that use a single HAVEN instance for their private , chat, inbox, outbox & blossom needs.

I'm trying to follow https://github.com/nostr-protocol/nips/blob/master/05.md in particular at the section "Showing just the domain as an identifier" so I use _@tomgag.net in my profile's NIP-05 field. Basically I would like people to tag me with @tomgag.net rather than something@tomgag.net . Am I doing it wrong?

I've never used the bare domain, so you might have to experiment. As I read NIP-05, bare domain support is not a "must," so it might not be supported by all clients. Not sure what you'd place in the JSON name field. Just an underscore, maybe?

No, it should be immediate. I see two possible additional issues:

(1) Your name has a space in the JSON. Use an underscore. I would also reduce everything to lower case.

(2) Add that exact name to your client NIP-05 field. Currently, you just have tomgag.net. It should be something like tom@tomgag.net where "tom" matches the name you input into that JSON.

Your JSON looks fine, but your CORS configuration is missing the header setting I mentioned above. Here's your CORS test result. It tells you how to fix it at the bottom:

What's the difference between broadcast & outbox?

Looks like just the thing I need, but not having any luck downloading and then verifying the Boltz Rescue Key. Won't let me proceed without a verification.

Are there any #cashu wallets that allow you to top up a mint with on chain #Bitcoin? I'm only seeing lightning options.

Be thankful you never got the card. I did, and it was the worst US credit card experience I've ever had. They provide only ONE way to activate, manage & spend with the card - a dedicated RH card app. The app is built with some external Google Play dependencies that make it inoperative on my phone. No phone number for technical support. No web portal. No number printed on the card. Email only. After 20+ emails back & forth, we concluded there was no way to activate the card I had received. Nothing more than a paperweight. Requested they cancel & close the account. Now 3 months later they still have not closed the account. Even though I've never used the card, I get email notifications saying payments are past due, but I can neither see nor pay the account balance. This garbage is screwing up my credit score.
