Been using the FlorisBoard keyboard lately. I really like the aesthetic and customizability, but what's really surprised me is how much im liking typing without any predictive text or autocorrect. Weird and unexpected, but this is working for me. 🤷
What a strange mindset to live in where I love technology, but also feel nostalgic for offline life. I want to be constantly connected yet similtaneously want to leave my phone behind to disconnect.
Incompatible efforts that I feel like a constant battle.
And as I'm here posting a note to nostr, looks like tech won for the moment. It usually does.
From what I understand, you can still install Google services to get some of that functionality without surrendering everything. Was that not worthwhile?

Oh man you do not want to see what my "server room" looks like right now. That's another project - but it may be worth a before/after shot :D
I started 2023 with no home server and ended it with a monolithic server with 66 running containers.
It's an old gaming PC so it's plenty capable. But holy god if I was to lose all of this at once, it would be heartbreaking to say the least.
2024 needs to be ALL ABOUT BACKUP AND REDUNDANCY. The mission is to harden my system before I have a catastrophic outage.
NAS needs to be on the list. Then I think I will begin to spin out some hosted apps on one or two mini PCs to section off the more critical services.
Until then - living on the edge. 🤣

I'm holding my breath. Finally going from pruned node to full node but my lightning node will have to be down while it syncs. Can't wait to see the force closes. 😭
