Wouldn't it be great if nostr:npub1dergggklka99wwrs92yz8wdjs952h2ux2ha2ed598ngwu9w7a6fsh9xzpc's and nostr:npub1l2vyh47mk2p0qlsku7hg0vn29faehy9hy34ygaclpn66ukqp3afqutajft's new podcast could be referenced directly inside Nostr? That way I wouldn't have to just allude to its existence and could make clear what I'm talking about instead of hoping the reader of this tweet will search for some vague name in a centralized canonical index of all podcasts.
Discussion
In theory it would be nice if it was hosted on a its own Blossom server π
It is hosted on its own blossom server.
The MP3 files are, but the publishing of the episodes is still on an RSS feed, not as nostr native events.
So it still a separate entity outside of nostr.
I figured it was! nostr:npub180cvv07tjdrrgpa0j7j7tmnyl2yr6yr7l8j4s3evf6u64th6gkwsyjh6w6 how would you prefer to see this become more nostr native?
The episodes themselves should be nostr events.
Unfortunately and surprisingly there is no nostr-native podcast player.
Yet.
But they still need be playable on regular podcast apps !
Non-nostr proxied into nostr vs nostr-native proxied into non-nostr
By that I mean; you could create a nostr-native podcast and then have some service that generates an RSS feed that is playable in non-nostr players.
I just wish my rss was also a full website.
nostr:npub1pr4du5xl28dy5sh4msz9uddnwxgzupkk4qzjzklv84edc6ruevzqlxmkzp somehow?
@brugeman
Npub.pro generates RSS suitable for podcast ecosystem, i.e. cd-demo.npub.pro
What if I already have a nostr:npub1pj3a304qsdh99yr5wkug75rfznr284fzy7zalfnuwkctwyye2djsae7des rss? Can I set my npub.pro site to intake that rss feed and display the episodes like it does in Citadel Dispatch?
That looks nice. nostr:npub1qny3tkh0acurzla8x3zy4nhrjz5zd8l9sy9jys09umwng00manysew95gx, do you feed your Podhome feed into npub.pro somehow?
They have nostr:nprofile1qyw8wumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnzd96xxmmfdecxzunt9e3k7mf0qyvhwumn8ghj7urjv4kkjatd9ec8y6tdv9kzumn9wshszxnhwden5te0wdjkuerfwshxummnvekxzun99e3k7mf0qy2hwumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnyv9kh2uewd9hj7qghwaehxw309aex2mrp0yh8qunfd4skctnwv46z7qpq0atn74wcwh8gahzj3m0cy22fl54tn7wxtkg55spz2e3mpf5hhcrsyey3gu that publishes every episode on nostr with a link to video file. Those posts are converted by npub.pro to a website and an rss feed.
Not right now. Maybe that rss feed could be converted to nostr posts which could then be displayed by npub.pro. There were some rss-to-nostr utilities, but not sure how well those work.
Great for who?
Show notes via NAK plz
Eu nΓ£o entendi porra nenhuma
Discovering podcasts is akin to discovering godcasts :-) .. It is harder to find good content (on pods) than finding God !
Literally anything will be better than the current situation!
Yes. It would be.
Iβm quite surprised weβre still not there yet.
An app where i can post/manage all my media publishing stuff, be it audio, pictures or video would be nice. With some blossomserver manager stuff.
No more, just that. And it should create nice alt-tags and app suggestions for those events.
In general i think apps could specialize in either browsing/surfing/viewing on the one hand, and drafting/creating/publishing on the other.
Something like a CMS? π
Using Nostr as a CMS for my websites, that is something I have in my backlog and will start building asap !
Wow, this is amazing. Is there an example of someone using it for a website?
I think I've seen some really interesting stuff in a nostr-awesome list, but either with far more feature than needed for me, out not enough. What I need:
1. Serve static website with client side routing, etc.
2. Fetch a given npub's content from a main relay and a few others as fallback
3. Parse, list and format the contents in corresponding pages, based on some tags.
I managed to publish, locally, a site via #emacs #orgmode , but not to manage the server, also because I can't get a valid ssl certificate :)
I would be very happy to get an org-mode site/blog, including #rss feed, integrated to #nostr and connected to #fediverse through #mostr
π
I'll dive in
π
it would be nice something like writefreely.el based on #orgmode and #nak
What's orgmode?
Interesting stuff: https://musing.studio/products
We could have all of that on Nostr.
Actually we should attract that guy specifically to rebuild his stuff on Nostr.
Iβve been quietly working on the idea of having a DNS TxT field pointed at an nPub & then having the index.html pull in relevant / most-recent nostr posts to fill out the page.
That way β¦ all you do is post on Nostr & the URL / DNS finds all the items to paint in the URL.
What is the name of the podcast ?
BRB going to search for some vague name I'm a centralized canonical index of all podcasts
nostr:npub1unmftuzmkpdjxyj4en8r63cm34uuvjn9hnxqz3nz6fls7l5jzzfqtvd0j2 how might we spec this?
Iβd request nostr native bookmarks that that take me to a specific time (e.g. 21:21), and optionally end at another time (e.g. 21:21 - 23:01)
Zaps can go to specific segments of the podcast. This way the observer can see the most zapped moments of the podcast.
Comments are tagged to specific segments of the podcast. This way the observer can see the most commented moments of the podcast.
NIP-84 includes the idea of targeting audio; essentially a highlight where the range is time-based instead of text offsets.
Meaning; you could create a highlight of an MP3 from second x to y and zap/comment/repost that.
Something like Soundcloud comments would be nice.
Yap, it just need its own kind(s) To me a podcast is just a content type
To the "nooooo dont try to replace RSS" crowd;
1: this better than RSS in so many way
2: Nostr is going to replace all the things anyway
