I've got a friend asking me how they can buy XRP in the US. Anyone have suggestions? (Yes I already warned them, and yes they already do hold bitcoin)

The easiest thing to do in this situation is… unfriend

Follow me for more solid advice.

Done and done.

If they really want to buy it, these are not the prices to do so. Wait for <0.25c.

Uphold may be an option IIRC.

Looks like Kraken, too

I use that primarily. But with the added context, I would advise them to exercise caution here unless they are willing to hold in draw-down, which most people aren't and they sell at a loss because they haven't learned patience in the markets.

Say "I don't know, man. I am not into that." Done. To each his own.

I gave him my honest opinion about it. He knows the risks and he knows how I feel about it.

I wouldn't be much of friend if I refused to help, knowing that I could.

Hm, idk. Not wanting to help does not mean you wouldn't be friends when you have your reason for it. Among friends, one person asks for help, and the other has an option to say yes or no.

I have been in a situation where I refused to help because I thought it would be like enabling. My grandma made a disapointed face at me for it 😅. It was about potential bad consequence which I did not want to be resposible for. But maybe this does not apply in your friend's situation.

Lol no it actually does apply pretty perfectly here..

I guess I feel like "fear of enabling" is a little too close to "controlling other people's behavior based on my preferences" for my taste.

But I take your point.

If they can't figure that out on their own, they shouldn't own it.

But to answer your question, you can go to any token page on CMC and see what exchanges list it. But again, the fact your friend has the Internet at their disposal and can't figure something as simple as this out... NGMI.

Should have mentioned: friend is old :)

He uses Coinbase for Bitcoin. Confused about why he can't buy XRP on Coinbase. He takes this as a bullish signal (he might be right about that part lol. See Monero delists)

Kraken seems to have it listed.

Tell Gramps that XRP wants to be the rails for CBDCs.

Hahaha

Gramps is of the Qanon persuasion that somehow feels the exact opposite. Something something quantum computers something something white hats say XRP saves the world from demons and child sex trarfickers.

Have you encountered this?

Nope and it doesn't make any sense. Ripple's Larsen has been behind the anti-Bitcoin campaigns doing things such as paying Greanpeace for the hit pieces and anti-POW political lobbying.

Moreoever, Ripple is very open that they've being trying to work with Governments and there is only one reason to do that -- to hopefully be their tech stack for any CDBC implementations.

I guess the Q crowd thinks "the good guys" are gonna get control of the government and "do it the right way"?

Cute!

probably on rumble where Q lives in sum part. lol
