Once fiat becomes worthless in exchange for bitcoin, P2P will come back in a big way.
Only after governments, corporations, and businesses have their cut and regular people flock to bitcoin em mass(sending bitcoin price past the moon and to Uranus and back) will bitcoin become the p2p cash as intended.
It's nothing new for these entities to use our backs for financial gain.
But, at this point, there won't be bitcoin(new money) left for everyone.
And who will they have to rely on for it?

I whole heartedly believe that not having another occupy wallstreet peacfully with guns and bitcoimers cheering for the ETF to go through was the start of our downfall.
Well except that if they work for 100 sats per week, at least the sats will retain value and people can build themselves out of their hole still if they want to.
Bitcoin couldn't even save me. And ive put 25% of all my paychecks since 2018 into it and saved it in my cold wallet.
All my monthly bills since then have been just over $2000/mo and I'm 13k in debt... not even that bad compared to others nationally...

Also, I don't think the government is going to buy Bitcoin, they aren't going to adopt tech that reduces their power. They are going to make using it difficult/ on and off ramps harder using their favourite tools, taxes and kyc. But we knew that for a long time.

First rule to saving is pay yourself 10% of your earning first. Anyone can live on 90% with little change in lifestyle, this is the first step to accumulating any sort of wealth. Most people ignore this rule or make excuses why it’s not possible for them but even the janitor with a family can do this if he sets his mind to it, sure there may be set backs but like anything else to fail is to give up. Get back on the horse and save in bitcoin. It’s not too late for you.

Because I believe anyone can save 10% of their income. For example if you made 10% more than you make now I can guarantee you would find a way to spend that extra 10% and feel like you can’t afford to save. Someone making dbl what you make can also claim to not be able to afford to save 10%. And yet someone in worse circumstances can save 10% if they choose. It is a matter of priority. If you make saving 10% a rule that you follow you will find a way to make it work. It is not the difference between being homeless or not. Will have a defined benefit plan retirement. You will feel good being a civil servant improving the quality of life for your community. If you are under 40 you'll get in eventually if keep applying.

Bummer, I would apply anyway and look for attorney seeking recourse if they are discriminating. You may be able to get through and hired anyway and can explain the mistake. Public Works can be very forgiving, especially at the larger counties like Los Angeles County. For skilled labor type jobs it's not uncommon for someone to have made a serious mistake when young so can still get hired. If you haven't tried I would for sure and be willing to relocate if necessary. Sometimes there are special programs to help in your situation as well. Your skills you mentioned are great for Public Works. Clean driving record will help along with good working track record. Pay an expert to do a killer resume for you if don't want to do yourself.

Should have only gone 10% into bitcoin for saving and put that other 15% into emergency fund (3-6 months expense) once that bucket is filled you could then look at putting the other 15% into saving Bitcoin or investing. But agree shit happens emergency funds are important so you touch have to touch your savings when cars break down and life happens.

I remember when the US used to be really cheap. Things have certainly flipped now. Bitcoin is only a fairer savings vehicle, if you cannot see how that can help and save people, you have more research to do.
Even for new Bitcoiners buying the first time at 100k, Long Term they will come out well, maybe not the huge gains like the last few years, but far better than fiat , stocks etc.. once you reach >15% return per year, it can really move the dial on your savings. Bitcoin can do that still.
