There are 3000 migrants passing through Uvita every day for the past 2 weeks. Women, infants, grandmas, whole families.

They were already charged $300 to get thru the Darien Gap (look it up if you don’t know).

They’ll be charged thousands by the cartels to get thru Mexico.

Today, we bought 20 onward bus tickets for 3 families with small children.

Any zaps on this post will go towards buying more onward bus tickets.

Love what you guys are doing with Bitcoin Jungle but I wouldn’t recommend supporting illegal immigration.

They will go, with terrible conditions or not. I rather think to make the way a little less harsh at least 😐

🕊️

Open money, Open protocols, Open markets, Open borders.

Reject arbitrary boundaries everywhere.

Do you have a front door on your house?

What we’re doing isn’t completely altruistic. The situation is getting out of hand in our little town. Really the only thing we can do is help them keep moving. If they can’t keep moving, they’re stuck. If they get stuck, crime goes up. It happened before.

Fair enough. At least we’re being honest about the situation. It’s a bad situation for everyone involved.

I truly hope the Bitcoin will bring great prosperity to Latin America, starting with El Salvador and Costa Rica. Then we are solving the root cause problem and these people will not feel the need to do a dangerous migration like this.

💯

Lol, that's comical. You're begging others to help you export crime to the US by supporting you with zaps. GFY.

💜💜💜💜💜

Where are they from and where are they heading?

Ok sorry, you mentioned Mexico so it seems they are heading to the US.

They’re largely from Venezuela. Heading to the US.

Stop helping to flood the us with commies. These people already destroyed their own country by embracing retarded socialist policies and they will arrive in the us and expect hand outs because socialists are lazy and do not want to work, they want to leech off the productive people.

👍

Why would anyone support you facilitating illegal immigration? Do you realise how many of these ppl fall victim to human trafficking?

Yeah this seems like it's contributing to the problem.

>The cartels & officials are extorting illegal migrants left and right. Let's give El Chapo's cousin some Sats!

It’s so stupid.

The policies of the US government are what’s facilitating illegal immigration. We’re just trying to prevent our little town from dying. It’s clear the US doesn’t give a shit about the negative downstream effects of their foreign policies.

Those policies are intentionally designed to destroy the people of the US and the world at large.

What are you doing beyond providing liquidity to cartels, corrupt police officials, pedophiles, and human traffickers?

You’re not helping anyone, your behaviour is leading to more human suffering. Why not help ppl in their home countries instead?

Are you referring to the Bitcoin Jungle project or the act of buying bus tickets for people who are already here?

I’m referring to you aiding and abetting illegal human trafficking. I don’t know anything about your project beyond that.

I think that’s pretty much the least generous way you could frame this.

From my perspective, a bunch of people just arrived to the town I live in. They have no money, barely any clothes. They’re sleeping on cardboard boxes along the highway. Our little tourist beach town of 2k people doesn’t have anything to offer these people. So, we offer them food, water, and a bus ticket to the next stop along the way.

Their social media is filled with “news” telling them that what they’re doing is completely legal and the US will have jobs, shelter, food, money, healthcare waiting for them.

Their friends and family that made this trip already are confirming this to them over WhatsApp- we had a similar wave of this in late October last year, right before the US elections.

They don’t want to stay here, and they won’t be allowed to re-enter Panama even if I could convince them to turn around (which would be impossible because their “news” and their family and friends are telling them).

It doesn’t matter that they supposedly claim ppl on WhatsApp or whatever are telling them that, literally everyone knows you can’t just enter foreign countries legally and just stay there. That’s literally common sense, and it’s also why they can’t re-enter Panama.

You clearly don’t realise how many ppl are abused, raped, and exploited by just “buying them a bus ticket” to the next stop.

If you had 20 people sleeping at the corner of your block on cardboard boxes, what would you do? Just try to avoid looking at them every time you pull in or out of your driveway? From my perspective, I’m looking at this pragmatically. They can’t just stay here forever, and the government seems disinterested in the whole situation.

Is it not possible to have the mexico national guard take care of it? They were formed to prevent and police illegal immigration into Mexico.

Uh, this is Costa Rica we’re talking about here. Several countries away.

Ah ok, if these people are already desititute by the time the reach Costa Rica how could they possibly make it to the US?

I think the UN has these like centers or camps in Panama and Honduras. I’ve heard people talking about them.

But at least here, they ask for food and/or money outside all the markets. Some hitchhike. Others wait until they get enough money for a bus ticket to the next stop.

So you admit that this isn't about helping the people, it's about keeping them away from you and your family?

It’s a win-win situation. These people want to keep moving & our little town doesn’t have any capacity to help them if they get stuck here.

You may find out that it's not actually a big win for you and your fellow Mexicans when the USA becomes a majority Spanish speaking nation.

Again, we’re in Costa Rica, not México.

And you might be very surprised about my nationality 😆

If you're in Costa Rica it's quite possible you're American or another expat but of course there are plenty of Americans in the USA who are all for open borders. That doesn't make it good for the USA or Latin America. Most of central and South America are below replacement rate already so mass migration will precipitate demographic collapse.

For me personally, open borders is a good concept that can’t be implemented in the current paradigm. First, we need to fix the money. Once we fix the money, we can fix the world.

Why would you want to treat your country differently to how you treat your home? Or do you believe there is a paradigm shift that would allow you to leave your front door unlocked at night as well?

So you’re a globalist? Borders exist for a reason.

lol…all families become primarily English speaking in the states…but statistically, the smartest & most productive citizens of the united states are bilingual or more.

Perhaps, but I give a shit about facilitating illegal immigration to the US.

The power and reach of this technology is beautiful #BeOG #Bitcoin #Nostr

The address for the Bitcoin Legal Defense Fund was broken.

Now all zaps go to #[0] to help migrant families traveling through Costa Rica
