Growing up on a farm I was surrounded by fresh veggies and fruit, fresh meat and fresh eggs. The neighbors coming over to get their eggs or to order their Christmas meat.

I used to go hunting with my parents and helped them slaughtering. I was running around and exploring the farm related life.

In my later teenage years/young adult I was rebellious, noticed the awful caring around the animal world. I refused to eat meat. I refused to eat any animal based food. It was hurting me to see how unconscious humanity handles our worthy animal world. That was also the time when I moved out so I was responsible for my own meals, and therefore, I was able to eat plant based things.

I realized, more than ever, that the way I grow up and used to eat was the most healthiest way. But not only because meat and eggs are nourishing, mainly because the food was served in the most natural way. I’m realizing that and I am very grateful. Today, I am unable to kill an animal. But I am thinking about changing that. Maybe my father can teach me more one day. Maybe I will do my hunters license I wanted to do since I was a wild child. I was growing up with a great blessing and I hope people in the future don’t loose that. Make farms a beautiful thing again. 🧡🌾 #farming #farmlife

Excellent post. 💜 beautiful 😻

Did you have chicken tractors or pens?

LFG 🖤🤍

💜

It's good if you don't want to kill living things. That's your gentleness and inborn respect for life.

But human life is also life, and humans are sustained through the consumption of other life forms and defense against attacks, so there is a balance to be met.

Thank you!🙏🏼

I’m worried… are we loosing the ability to kill an animal? My grandparents and their generation grew up with it, my parents maybe, and people in my generation barely.

Will we outsource it completely to machines?

Do we really want scientific created meat?

Do we deserve meat if we’re unable to kill a living being?

Are we drifting away from our natural state of being? And is that as bad as I imagine?

These are the questions I am asking myself. I can’t imagine a world where we push nature away and find a way to live effectively unnatural.

Ping ponging between it does matter and it doesn’t matter.

Not where I live. But it would be nice to go back to local in more places. Genuinely.

Most people have always received their meat already dead.

And I'm old-fashioned enough to think that there is value in not encouraging women to be lethal because it wears off their gentleness.

The alternative is vats of sludge and antibiotics trying to generate meat. Most gets tossed away due to infection and what we are left is low quality.

Not killing animals for meat is environmentally and economically unsustainable.

The people that fall for this scam definitely deserve the vat sludge.

All living things should be treated with respect. And the price of meat should reflect whatever is needed to raise or hunt it ethically and include all negative externalities.

Yes, this is the thing.

I sometimes wonder if the carnivore craze isn't just a knee-jerk reaction to the vegan craze.

Humans are omnivores, by nature.

Maybe, but it's working to cut a lot of what ails people with the onset of industrial monocropping and forever chemical pesticides.

Yeah.

Wise words, I find admirable to be able to change past beliefs in the pursuit of truth.

Is not easy, the deeper the belief, the harder it is, tho the point that many may preffer to change their perceptions (self deception) rather than go through the painfull process of change

It feels relieving 🙏🏼

I grew up on a farm too. We sold when I was 12 because it was getting harder to make a living. Dad said you had to get big or get out. I now know that was a quote by the secretary of agriculture under President Richard Nixon, the inevitable result of fiat money.

We went back there recently in a drought. It was heartbreaking.

It’s a struggle, we used to have more animals and land, but labor intensive work and regulations made it hard to stand it. Now I’m just into gardening and I hope I can make this place maybe a little more beautiful again.

Get big or get out… that sucks.

I’m so so sorry to hear that Azz but I hope you can build yourself the future of your dreams…. 🫶💚

There is always a difference between respectfull actions from a place of humility and actions out of passion, ignorance or fustration.

Wisdom comes from knowing that difference..

You say it 💚

Ok….so, is there any being with a soul that has the desire to be killed? I don’t think so. If we humans are able to live a healthy natural life without the need to murder, why should we do so? Who gives us the right to kill helpless beings, or weaker beings, or beings that don’t talk the same language? If you look into the eyes of a wild or domestic animal, it will look at you rather with fear or with love. I’m vegan since over 10 years now. I’m healthy and I cook almost everything from scratch. Only organic food, made with love comes into my body. My body is a garden, not a graveyard.

I know, humans used to have the need of hunting many many years before, when living in caves…but do we live in caves? No…we have upgraded…(or downgraded 😅)…we don’t move as much as we used to…we have settled down…we no longer need to hunt…we are able to grow our food… our digestive system is a herbivore system. Not a carnivore system…no need to harm other beings in order to be healthy and happy. Let’s be kind to all kinds 💚🙏🏼🌱

Hey essencial, thank you. I really appreciate your point of view.

In my eyes, food should be as natural as possible. The mass industry meat is as unnatural as the soy fake meat. We used to eat plants & meat. Not just one thing (what I see and understand)

If someone is able to care for, to kill & to process an animal, I don’t see a reason why they should not serve it to their family.

My grandma told me “it’s not easy to kill them but it is necessary.” As a farmer 60-70 years ago it was their daily business. My grandfather is the most gentle person around his goose gang the whole summer, he lets them eat fresh grass on a wide meadow, they living their best life. Nobody asking the gooses if they want to die, sure, but they will be the reason we’re able to stay alive. And for someone else it’s the necessary food he needs in order to do his labor intense work.

The main reason why meat is so popular, is that it provides lots of nutrition in just a few bites. It’s efficient. Perfect in a world where nobody got time.

In my eyes, it’s not fair that we use more and more machines to kill them, that we give the responsibility to a non thinking, non feeling machine. We already gave the responsibility to supermarkets, people don’t care where it’s coming from.

So in today’s world, it is an absolute horror that our fake interests lead to this unethical mass industry. But in a more fair world, (and I love how I always end up at this point in every discussion! Bitcoin is sooo helpful) we probably wouldn’t even care what others are eating. Because you actually deserve what you get.

Natural is the magical word in my eyes. The world is too unnatural and it will make humanity unconscious and sick. We are already there.

Appreciate your way of living💚, it’s a true inspiration. Because I sure have my doubts with getting enough nutrition, living plant based. But simply because I don’t find the time to eat in general (due to personal stress mainly). Sucks. But I’m on a good way.

If I will ever kill an animal again, I would have my personal important reasons. And I would really deserve the meat. But I’m also fine with just looking at them and being stunned by their bare existence. 💚

Sorry to break this for you, but your digestive system is not that of a herbivore.

You don't have a multi-chamber stomach, you dont have a fully flattened dentition, you don't have a gap between you incisives and your molars to help with the grinding of vegetable fibers, you are not bringing your half-digested food from your stomach to your mouth to chew on it again, you lack several meters of intestines for processing leaf and other vegetable materials, and your gut microbiota is not adapted to process only vegetables. You have a digestive system designed to follow a omnivorous diet, everything in your body points towards that.

When you look throughout human evolution, brain size increases are highly correlated with an increase in animal protein consumption. Since protohumans abandoned a fruit based diet, with sporadic supplements of insects and other animal proteins, the animal content of the diet kept increasing right until ~10K years ago. Then, it quickly shifted to grain based diets. This shift has been so sudden that our bodies are not properly adapted to the high amounts of carbohydrates we consume nowadays. Artificial selection of high cabrs content plants, and a less active life have enhanced the detrimental effects this swift change has.

So, if you follow the millions of years of evolution your body tells, you should have a omnivorous diet with high levels of animal protein, supplemented vegetables, out of which only fruit should be high carbs.

If you don't want to follow that diet based on some cow hugging beliefs, fine. But don't bullshit yourself telling you that your body is something it isn't.

Naw. I think essencial is okay with the way he or she eats. Thanks for ur point of view.

Animal abuse and so mass industry IS a thing and I think it’s remarkable that there are people trying to find a solution for that. I know you only wanted to point the herbivore out but I felt like adding this.

They can eat whichever way the want, but saying you have the digestive system of a herbivore is like saying the sun rises from the west, simply false.

And yes, mass meat production is real and is bad. But that doesn't make people eating meat some sort of cruel, soulless cunts either.

It’s just so illusional, how unconscious many people eat. Hope this fighting “no my nutrition is the best, no mine” ends some day. And that we’re able to eat more naturally in general.

In that case, do you have the fangs and digestive system of a predator? In addition, even predators eat grass and berries...because they need fiber. Thanks to the fiber, the good bacteria in our intestines produce important enzymes and vitamines...

In addition, most diseases of civilization come from acid-producing foods, i.e. all of animal origin. Why do people say we are descended from monkeys and then want to tell vegans that we need meat? Have you ever seen a monkey chasing a cow? Not me...😂🤣

Ok, thats from my side...I'm the kind of person who likes to inspire to eat a healthy plant based diet...not argueing around...Bye 👋🏻

Did I say we are carnivores? No. I said omnivorous, learn to read. And while at it, read something about the evolution of human diet and compared anatomy.

Fiber is good for the digestion precisely because it doesn't breakdown and soaks up water, which helps with the expulsion of the feces.

I've never seen a monkey chasing a cow, but I've seen chimps eating insects, hunting small mammals and birds, and even cannibalizing other chimps after beating them to death. You seem to imply you don't think humans and chimps have a common ancestor, which is an even more retarded take than humans having a herbivorous digestive system.

You want to give good advice's about healthy diet? Simple, don't tell people to be vegan

Peeps, please

Did I say humans are ruminants? Nope… now bye

You said they're have a herbivorous digestive system, which is false

💯 agree with this. Went through the same phases. But listening to my own body it's the lack of chemicals and whole natural foods grown or raised in the most organic ways that I feel the best.

Great you realized what’s it about too 💚

Lovely reflection Franny! 💜🫂

Thanks!! 💚

I'm working to give my children the childhood you had.

Makes me happy to hear! Connecting with nature is… more than just a blessing… 💚

Interesting story

Thanks for sharing with us.

I'm also a rebellious one in my family.

On many topics, I went against my father.

But as I am growing, I'm understanding their viewpoints and perspectives.

We are in the same boat.

Thanks for your insights :) we are in the same boat, you say it. 🙏🏼
