WOOT!!!! ๐Ÿป ๐Ÿ•

Is there any way to stream through smartphone?

That would be awesome

Yes, with SLOBS mobile

https://streamlabs.com/mobile-app

Thanks!

Yay ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Nice!!

Could you add a log in with Amber option at some point? I'm on brave browser usually and Nos2x doesn't work on it

Brave on Desktop? You can use the Nostr Connect extension.

Only on mobile atm, the desktops wrapped up & put away in storage atm

You can download the new zap.stream app from the playstore. It supports Amber (afaik). See Kieran's timeline for a link

Got it, as soon as I saw it and it's great for watching streams but no option to stream via it yet AFAIK

no, you need a broadcasting up for that like SLOBS mobile or shosho for nostr (closed source)

https://github.com/r0d8lsh0p/shosho-releases

What? Can someone still support? Havenโ€™t streamed my guitar playing in a longer while, sorry for that

I enjoyed those streams. Hope to see you stream again soon!

The site doesn't load for me :( using vanadium

I've been streaming on the basic plan it's already extremely cheap. It's around 0.4 sats a minute

I think most new users don't know about the plans and end up streaming on the 5 sats per minute. Which might push them away.

The UI doesn't show the correct sats per minute on the basic plan, it still shows 5 sats a minute. It's probably a bit confusing for new users. Might want to make that better.

I'll keep spreading the word on zap stream. It's a really good streaming site.

it's also an app or at least on android

Do I need to activate the basic plan?

I think all you have to do is add that basic stream url into your streaming platform and then you will be using the basic plan. The dashboard still shows 5 sats per minute even after entering that url, but the math is correct because normally I only fund my account everyday which is around 21 sats because I always stream 1 hour a day, no more no less, usually

No.

There is three endpoints / plans

basic (free): rtmp://in.zap.stream/basic

good: rtmp://in.zap.stream/live2 (output encoding for viewers)

best: rtmp://in.zap.stream/live (VOD storage and output encoding)

If it was obviously free then there would be even more illegal streams and probably nobody would use the paid endpoints and zap.stream would die

yes

You can find all the endpoints in Dashboard -> Settings modal if you are live

I wonder if it has importing abilities (i.e. importing from YouTube channels of the past).

I'd be happy to take a look if that's the case.

On the iOS app I can only login with nsec?

What other method is there on iOS? There is no Amber equivalent on iOS yet.

Thatโ€™s my implied question.

Got it. No other option is currently available for logging into iOS apps. Itโ€™s being worked on. There is a dev building something similar to Amber for the iOS side of things, but no ETA.

We're working on a platform for this, though for business us case first. Essentially the only scaleable options for iOS are those that are Nitro enclave based. No local options are scaleable. There are some neat workarounds, like Aegis or Nosskey, but if someone says there will be an Amber for iOS, there won't be, there cannot be.

Do you know how Yeti, being worked on by nostr:nprofile1qqszw70nm86zcl0wzlcwd0xulzdgl82e95v78vdm6fl0rnlarfle35gqttkd5 differs from those you mentioned, including your own approach?

I'm not sure, looks like it's either paused or abandoned from the github link. Whatever the state of it, there are fundamental limits that neither it nor anything else can overcome on iOS, the main limit being long-running background tasks; those can only be used for 7 or so specific things, and nothing on that list of specific things corresponds to signing Nostr events. (You have to use some clever workaround to keep the process going in the background, like playing silent music, which is cool but won't scale out of test flight as sooner or later a reviewer will see that.) And even if you go that route, you still run up against limits like the need to run the signer app every time you restart your phone etc. You basically need the cloud involved *somehow* for it to be a scalable and user0friendly UX, just no two ways around it.

That makes a lot of sense. Quite unfortunate for those who would like to have a tool like Amber on iOS, but it kind of needs to be awake in the background waiting for signing requests in order to work locally.

Yeah, itโ€™s paused. Sorry, folks. But Iโ€™m not giving up on it yet. My focus has been too spread thin to make meaningful progress on any single project as Iโ€™m doing all of this on the side. My focus is currently Damus and have a few exciting features lined up.

In the meantime, check out Aegis by nostr:npub179e5zckwq9vqsenc8ha9qv7p9vxwq20cq526ac67prts8kc4khmqu50zj8 which has been getting some traction as an iOS signer and adoption amongst some Nostr apps. I think their UX switching between apps looks pretty good. But there are limitations that can cause friction. Like adding reactions to notes.

Thanks for the update!

Your time is more scarce than Bitcoin, so I get it.

Try Aegis for Nostr, but itโ€™s only available on TestFlight

https://github.com/ZharlieW/Aegis

You can use the nip46

Now I have to make changes to my zap.stream tutorial script xD

How to start a stream on basic? When I start it's always normal plan.

You change the server URL to change plans, use the url above: rtmp://in.zap.stream/basic

Great ideas ๐Ÿ’ก
