We have a place near me that says “Montreal style” which means they soak them in honey water and then into a wood fired oven… they’re pretty freaking good.. super crunchy when toasted but tender on the inside.

Yeah, I’ve been to Montreal and had the real ones. It’s fine once in a while but the sweetness isn’t necessary.

Real bagels don’t need to be toasted.
