Damnit Jack, my reading list is already long AF, but I had to relearn to walk in 2021 following an accident and this title sings to meโฆ
I believe it to be the secret to success.
Success meaning health.
I walked an average of 9.5 miles every day in 2022. This year not so much. Walking is one of the best forms of exercise imho
๐ฏ
Whoโs the lad who said heโs a walking maxi? Itโs in his twitter bio
if i am not wrong, walking is the only "sport" that indeed increases your lifespan
- Walking/moving consistently
- Lifting heavy things
- Sleeping well
- Low chronic stress
- Good food
- Maintaining good body weight
- Fasting/calorie control
- Good relationships
- Healthy mindset
- A life purpose
Thatโs all you can do until they crack the longevity code
Don't forget the most important. A relationship with the creator of all things.
I need to up my game ๐ช
Any good advice on how to get into walking more? ๐
The journey of 1000 miles begins with the first step ๐ถโโ๏ธ
Hahaha true. I do try to walk at least 10,000 steps or 7-8km per day tho, but want to walk even more ๐
Agreed! Here is the original Chinese quote: ๅ้ไน่กๅงไบ่ถณไธ
Iโve been an avid walker for years.
Walking is one of the most meditative activities for me. A 3 mile walk every day at sunset is one of the highlights.
Is 'The Art of Walking: A Field Guide' by David Evans similar to the book in question, or would you also recommend reading it?
What's your TL;DR Jack?

Wait I saw your other note from a couple days ago, is this your first book of the year? ๐
Itโs a good book, I liked that it talks abt clarity of mind with walking, the mind and walking connection and taking time away from work to solve problems at work.
There are people who think that those that walk a lot are looking to connect with others, to understand & empathize with others. Ever heard of โwalk a mile in my shoesโ
In case you were into this book for my tweets to you last night, I just wanted to be clear I can empathize with you and how hard youโve tried. People do forget to see the helperโs (yours) perspective because itโs an not well-studied dimension. A practice I tell most people to do is IOPT, imagine other perspective taking. But just sticking to my tweets, I believe you try hard to help everyone, thatโs why you do all the big things you do, but maybe sometimes starting small is better? Sometimes โcharity begins at home first?โ Fixing a situation that gets the American workers jobs is starting small, then moving to bigger or international issues.
The book was a great suggestion though. FYI, I love you ๐๐๐ #[1]
