How did my phone become a source of spam as great as my email?
I literally just dont answer the phone anymore except to speak to barely a handful of people. Otherwise its just a constant stream of bullshit.

Same for me in Mexico, banks are calling me all the time to offer me new credit cards.
I have two sims on my phone. My buisness sim is off unless im checking voicemail Because something found that phone number and it's just been a nonstop influx of bullshit. My main # less so. But its frustrating.
I'm glad that most of the people I'm in regular contact with use signal and call me useing that.
The government fixed the spam. That's how.

I answer the phone and say..
“Hi thanks for calling, I don’t have any high interest merchant cash advanced loans, I don’t need Medicaid or medicare part D, and I already have health insurance plus an extended warranty for my vehicle… how can I help you today?”
It’s like clockwork at this point
I never answer unknown numbers. Life is simpler that way.
I use Tasker on Android to filter my calls. If a caller isn't in my favourites/allowed groups, the call just gets dropped.
Same. I also dont listen my voicemail anymore because its always about my car insurance in Arizona expiring except I never owned a car in AZ nor have i ever lived there.
Voice phone calls are mostly useless legacy technology anyways
