Good morning Nostr. What is the best Bitcoin gift to give someone for Christmas in 2024?
Discussion
Cold hard sats if a no coiner with a hww
GM 🍵 a bitbox with sats
When gifting Bitcoin this way to a newbie, do you back up the seed for them in case they lose their backup or mess something up in the future?
Yes, if they are a close relation
I help them do it…teach a man to fish🤷🏽♂️
If they want me to I’ll keep a copy for them as long as they like…I’ve had several lose their seed phrase during the process of learning about BTC and call me back in a panic😳😂
Yeah, I usually keep a copy of the backup as well. Had a friend lose a seed phrase once, a long time ago. After that, I always keep a backup.
Auf jeden Fall und natürlich gibt's eine Anleitung und es wird geübt wie es funktioniert 👍🏼
Yes, if nocoiner keep the seed and let them know. Once they are ready they can move to a new seed later
I’d like another bitaxe please 🙏
Would make a great gift
Good morning ✌️🧡
Bitcoin may be the best gift you can give. But depending on the person, I'm sure you could think of something more personalized, like a hardware wallet, bitaxe, a Bitcoin book/audiobook, bitcoin themed artwork/posters, tshirts, jewelry, wool clothing, socks, sheepskin rugs, steak, etc.
You know, things bitcoiners like.
What would give if you had to pick one
Good morning! Knowledge of #Bitcoin!
Where is my gift? Come here let me teach you about Bitcoin 😂
One of the best ways to get someone to learn about #bitcoin is to gift them some sats.
On a long enough timeframe, they’ll want to know more 🤓🧡
that or you're throwing out the sats and they'll never be recovered. gotta be careful with this approach.
LN wallet configuration and some sats.
Best LN wallet to do this?
This is what I did. Could even swap the $200 wallet for a $15 SatsCard with $25 on it. But the book will at least be a solid entry point to get why what and how. I wrote it as a broad easy to read overview that QR links to curated YouTube playlists per topic that I update and the landscape evolves.

The hardest part... no easy to an enduser, I always check this https://darthcoin.substack.com/p/stacking-sats-noob-journey and try to select one from there. If you are going to help in the configuration part, maybe one custodial, if that is not the case, go for the most common (possibly WoS).
Bitcoin
I've been giving my nieces and nephews a small amount of Bitcoin every year. I kept it simple (and insecure) and made paper wallets for them and told their parents to keep them in a safe.
I currently have a copy of the private keys. When the time comes, I'll sweep them to hardware wallets for which I have no keys nor PINs.
It's pretty fun every Christmas. "Hey Vinney, I heard Bitcoin is up". "Yea, remember that $n Bitcoin I gave your kids so far? Now it's worth $n*x. Keep it safe!"
Badass Uncle 💪. Paper wallet, I used to rock in the early days. Never lost my coins. This Christmas, the Bitcoin is now worth talk, going to open some eyes.
A corndalorian meme, framed.
Printed copy of the Bitcoin whitepaper and a card that says "sorry I spent all my Christmas money on Bitcoin"
If it's a small child, a plushie and children's book from my little hodler.
If it's an orange pill mission or new person otherwise a hard copy of a book or books from the saif house.
If it's someone with laser eyes but using one of the less stellar signing devices (ledger, trezor, etc), a coldcard.
And if it's someone who's got all that but no node, some hardware and a date to help them get a node up and running.
If they have all that maybe some swag, or if appropriate, zap some sats. Also, Salvadoran bitcoin friendly coffee doesn't hurt.
Oh seed backup supplies are helpful too. If they have the stamps you can never have enough M8 stainless steel washers or titanium plates.

That's cool never seen this before 🧡
Give them love. A great gift would be fiat cash and a lesson on where to safely buy and store BTC. Then enjoy the time together teaching and learning sound money.
An @Umbrel Home, if that’s within your budget. They are amazing little devices.
or a nostr:npub126ntw5mnermmj0znhjhgdk8lh2af72sm8qfzq48umdlnhaj9kuns3le9ll is something I am considering but the level the person is currently, I will need a more first step gift.
How about a lightning piggy bank?
Bitcoin is the most difficult gift because it's like giving someone a book that you hope someone will read because it contains information you think they need. I struggle with this myself. It would be so irritating, though, to give someone like a "Coupon" for bitcoin education.
Book: Great by Choice, by Jim Collins
I got try this for myself too ☕
Bitcoin PEZ
Limited edition. Maybe that was last year only but wife brought a tear to this guys eye with that one.
Ultimate stocking stuffer!

I have mine pinned up in my office. Ultimate for sure. 👍

Education. Depending on the age of the gift receiver either "Broken Money" by nostr:npub1a2cww4kn9wqte4ry70vyfwqyqvpswksna27rtxd8vty6c74era8sdcw83a or "Bitcoin Money: A Tale of Bitville Discovering Good Money"
