Trying to quit nicotine…quickly entering insanity. Would appreciate tips from anyone who has done it. https://video.nostr.build/b1083caec96e34a4bca36f46ee65d9949740fb402fab4274aa40ded52f576278.mp4

Whenever you go to buy a nicotine product, just think of all the sats you could get for those dollars instead
Or… continue buying the nicotine products with a contract to yourself to stack an equal amount in sats each time, doubling the “cost” of your habit. This way you can’t afford to use it as much and end up with more sats on your way to quitting. Just be sure to keep stacking sats once you’ve quit.
Ugh I’m not motivated by SATs or dollars..not even my own health. I know it’s the right thing, but the cravings are killing me and turning me into a bigger asshole than I already was.
toothpicks.. lots of toothpicks
Damn I wish there was an easier way…like a medically induced coma for two weeks
especially the tea tree oil kind, the kind that burn a little
Yahhh it’s that back of the throat burn I miss the most for some reason
(craving that never really goes away 😞 it just lessens down to almost nothing eventually)
Ugh it sucks hard. I feel like I’m gonna die without a little hit here and there
first step is changing your identity
think of yourself as someone who used to smoke nicotine
Yeah I like this idea. Like I read about visualizing life as a nonsmoker
identity - outcome - goal
those are the different levels you can think of. changing the identity is the best way to go
create and follow a system to quit nicotine, and the goal will fulfil itself
Can't recommend Allen Carr's audiobook Easy Way to Quit Smoking. I still smoke, but have used it multiple times to quit for years at a time lol full disclosure. It's easy to start again is the problem. Now I smoke cigars
a tiny tiny amount of those terrible horrible nicotine lozenges do help a little to get over the first 10 day hump. exercise and lots of movement is probably better to help with the nerves. I remember it taking at least over a week to reset the habit of reaching for it. the beginning is the hardest part
Yeah I need to like make a schedule or something so that I’m moving around and busy. Am also eating a ridiculous amount, which is a silver lining
There's a technique used in hypnotherapy smoking cessation treatment: create new assosications to smoking and aspects of it.
One could possibly work for this is instead of the old association of enjoying the cigarette as you feel the burn in your throat, associate with black smoke coming out of a muffler of an old car.
I don't know if this could work just for you to imagine it (instead of being under hypnosis) but you can try. Every time you miss that feeling, start to picture the above image.
Other things you can do is to chew on things and maybe eat other sugary stuff. The sugar content in the cigarettes is a big component of why it's addictive, along with the nicotine.
This is great advice 🥹🌈
Just smoke weed.
Pity
Hahaha I am… my body wants both
Doctors orders: get better weed.

Sadly that tells me nothing
30% thc is good weed. Thats what its saying
He’s right though. He can’t look at how leafy or stemmy it is or the colors
Ok sure fair enough but I highly doubt legal shit is being sold with sticks and stems. But one hit and ya know, so since you already said it was good, my first comment stands
Actually some of it lol, but you get what you pay for
Really? Thats odd. But I guess shouldnt be surprising. Knew many people who preferred some shwaggy ass dirt weed over good stuff. To each their own I guess
Thc % means nothing and results can easily be fabricated
Ok well then perhaps the burger you eat is human meat. Ingredient lists mean nothing and can easily be fabricated
Well actually….you can tell by the effects. If you’re a daily toker and are always trying different strains….you don’t need the bag nor anyone to tell you if it’s good shit. Plus taste is a huge part for us and that’s subjective. What’s “good” to you, may be trash to your buddy.
This! Different terpenes have different effects and each individuals body chemistry interacts differently with each terpene.
Yeah we went through our last doob and gotta go back soon.
The legal industry in my country is garbage everything their is hidden behind packaging and subpar. Best way to get some fire is blackmarket
Nah it’s too expensive to buy on the streets now
You gotta start buying oz if you wanna beat a nicotine addiction, smoke the whole day everytime you think of nicotine
I get two ounces a week lol
That is an exorbitant amount of weed and I feel so bad for your dopamine receptors 😂 Jesus Christ dawg
It’s for the house (my husband and I). Haven’t had a drink in 13 years nor another drug. It’s actually helped my dopamine receptors which are deficient due to ADHD
It helped me quit all the other things essentially
Colour me surprised! Much like the other thread of conversation with terpenes this just goes to show how much it impacts people differently. I’m so glad it has been able to help you find stability in life and stay away from other vices. 🫂💜
If I smoked that much I would be a potato all the time 😂
Hahaha it’s also temporary. My husband was in a gnarly accident/in wheelchair and it helps with his pain and sleep and I’m trying to quit vaping nicotine right now so am using substantially more, but plan to return to normal when I can deal with the cravings 🫂💜
My advice, just keep going no matter how hard the temptation gets, after a year or so you’ll likely forget about it. I smoked for 15yrs or so and quit cold turkey. Also smoked weed for about the same amount of time and quit that too, just started making me extremely paranoid.
One of the hardest things I’ve done was quit smoking, but felt like a king once I succeeded.
I also haven’t had a drink in about 2 months now, going to try and keep it going🤙🏼
All the best with tossing those cigs!
Yeah I feel like I don’t even know what healthy feels like because I’ve been smoking or vaping most of my life. When I hear other people who did it talk about how much better they feel or more energy, I feel the most motivated 💜
Definitely way more energy from quitting smoking. Not looking back!
Although I’ve felt a little weird the last couple of months from not drinking, my brain is certainly more sharper.
Think of it as giving yourself a raise, all that money can go towards some corn instead! 🤙🏼🫂🌽
You think weeds bad for dopamine lol do some research stop believing everything you get told by gov
This is a pretty ignorant and close minded comment. Also pretty toxic. Marijuana /is/ bad for dopamine if you over consume. Anything that provides an immediate dopamine hit and doesn’t provide intrinsic value is bad for dopamine. Like social media, YouTube videos, etc. Over consumption of any of these are bad for your dopamine production and release. I’m not believing everything I’m told, I’m sharing my own experiences from smoking marijuana for multiple years, every day, multiple bowls a day. Stop assuming you know more than everyone else.
And you arent doing the same? Wheres your proof?
Come on boys, some may smoke more, some may smoke less. Some may smoke better, some may smoke worse.
The medicine is a blessing either way.
The bad stuff isnt medicine. Thats what causes anxiety and other issues
I’m not. Plethora of research available online on the topic of dopamine producing activity overconsumption and why it’s bad for the brain. Regardless, I’m not obliged to prove anything. I’m sharing my opinion and viewpoint based on my personal experiences, not trying to argue facts. I just don’t appreciate how you came at me. Instead of simply disagreeing based on your experience or opinion, you sought to insult my intelligence in order to undermine my point. Not needed or productive to healthy conversation.
Got a case of the reefer madness ey?
You need better stuff then if it aint cutting it
But you can trust that the taste: 10/10
Get so baked you dont even want to move to get any nicotine.
This also works for food addiction
But only works if the weed is properly grown and super strong
Aww
No. Try not. Do. Or do not. There is no try. Trying is one foot out the door.
Transdermal nicotine patches. Go from hi to med to low… worked for me, but it is hard! Make a commitment to yourself that you are a “non-smoker”
BTW, just curious as I learn about Nostr… What is the Casine?
Yeah I think I’m gonna pick some up because I’m not cold turkeying well.
It’s a place where you have to prove you’re not a fed or commie to know what it is…#thecasine
Go to the nest so you can be screened 🤣
Ive done it a few times.
I'd say that once you're 100% committed, it's not that hard.
But if you're 99% in with 1% doubt, then it's torture
Fuck…I’m the latter.
Also, and this sounds super cheesy, but you are stronger than the little addicted part of your brain that’s filling your head at every moment with reasons to continue with nicotine. Recognize those evil whispers for what they are, a manipulation.
The manipulation weakens over time.
Not super cheesy, accurate. I am strong enough to stop, my brain mistakenly convinces me otherwise. It’s a battle up there mentally 🤣
Eat foods high in nicotine. It’s not much but can reduce the withdrawal symptoms.
Like what? Tobacco leaves?
Wait can you explain
nostr:npub18dlusgmprudw46nracaldxe9hz4pdmrws8g6lsusy6qglcv5x48s0lh8x3 Half of the items in the produce section in the grocery store contains nicotine. Mostly the nightshade vegetables. Also different berries. The highest is usually eggplant but tomatoes have alot. And when you reduce them down the content per volume goes up. So any tomato based sauce - gravy - salsa has the highest concentration. Just search foods containing nicotine online. You’ll see a bunch
There's a lot of buzz around your post.

I had the most success just walking away from them. I decided which one was the last one and then I just stopped. I usually smoked in my car alone or out on my back porch. If I was in my car, I'd crack my window to fool my brain. At home, I'd stand on the back porch with a straw or pencil or something in my hand.
Yeah I have to like hold things in my hands but I like the straw idea, will try it for sure. The cravings are ridiculous
