Hi Ross, currently "detainees", including men, women and children are being held without due process across the country in conditions that many report to be inhumane, with irregular access to food, water, medicine, and are frequently not allowed to speak to loved ones or counsel.
Do you feel a common cause with those people?
He was freed by finding himself on a favorable side of partisan favoritism.
While it is excellent news that he was freed, he should have been set free because it was the correct, merciful, and humane thing to do, not because of political connections to a party personality who enjoys inflicting terror upon the most vulnerable for sport.

Yet US has one of the highest reoffending rates at 80%. Norway has lowest at 20%, rather than "punish" they rehabilitate. With such vast numbers reoffending it's arguably a national security issue. Taking up the mantle to push prison reform now you are free would be a VERY worthy cause. Ive no idea where libertarian party is on that issue, but inmates also have rights to liberty.
There is an overwhelming body of research to the contrary. Just find countries with lower reoffending rates and compare/contrast their prison systems.

They're mostly broken humans, who need fixing. Its no benefit to the inmate or society as a whole the punitive approach. Having freedom of movement restricted is punishment enough, rest should be fixing them so they don't cause further harm when released.

Regarding food on prison always choose the halal/kosher food option.
I was a vegetarian when I got locked up, the vegetarian food in prison was a joke. Unseasoned and low protein.
The non halal/kosher meat would cause serious stomach upsets for a lot of people.
Not being allowed to have sex is not really eugenics.
USA was actually built on eugenics, Adolf Hitler was "inspired" by the American system.
The whole idea for the holocaust was based on how USA exterminated the indigenous people and restricted immigration based on eugenics
You're completely right anyhow they treat the female prisoners, the prison I was at was unisex, we were segregated from the women but being diabetic I was taken to the med bay for insulin a few times a day.
I lost count of how many times they walked me past a female inmate actively being abused by male guards.
Honestly that was the worst part.
Being totally powerless to help the people being abused.
I still feel guilty that I didn't try to intervene.
The actual reason for prison is to maintain control over society through fear and give corporations access to cheap labour.
Ross was locked in maxo the entire time so he never got a taste of the forced labour, but shit once you get to minimum security all you do is work work work for cents an hour.
If prison was about keeping violent dangerous people seperate from society almost every police officer would be in prison while 90% of the people in prison wouldn't be there.

If you care about freedom you should care about Prison.
Your speeches are always very interesting and emotionally engaging. Unfortunately, this is what most men tend to do when they can exert power over others—I doubt we can change that. The only way to protect oneself from it seems to be by gaining more power, which may be selfish. But unlike you, I believe humans are fundamentally barbaric—only superficially civilized by protocols engineered by a few enlightened individuals among us.
