I am more proud of myself for these things than any other accomplishments by far. All this was done in 1.5 years. Before this , I had only ever used iPhones and had near zero technical knowledge. I still have no technical knowledge but I managed to set all these things up on my own by following instructions online. To this day, I still don’t even know how to make a spreadsheet or use Word. I’m mid 50s so no spring 🐔

If I can do it, anyone can. A lot of it was feeling intimidated. If anyone needs help, let me know and I can point you in the right direction.

I even wiped out an old MacBook Air and installed Linux Mint but now I realize I have no idea how to do anything on Linux. I just need to learn how to run sparrow on it.

Also on the list is to try to figure out Liliana wallet.

Ireland. I just moved to Malta for 5 months but I couldn’t get enough work so going back to Ireland next week. I’m only in my 20s and have never given Dublin a try. If I was to move again it would be to Costa Rica or El Salvador. I like my job (in small doses) and wouldn’t mind continuing it

Does Malta and Ireland refractions to be done by an optometrist or do they allow opticians to refract?

Also, is optometry a 4 year university degree in Ireland ?

I liked optometry enough in Canada but didn’t want to be trapped by Cbdc and deal with escalating crime and poverty. 6 months after I sold my practice , the optical store where I worked got broken into. They shattered the glass door to get in and stole all the frames and damaged some computers.

We have opticians/optometrist and ophthalmologists.

Opticians and optometrist mean the same thing here

Ophthalmologists are doctors who can prescribe + do surgery

I’m really sorry to hear about your shop. The same problems are coming to Ireland. I’m only young so I would still need to work, that’s probably the only thing putting me off the move

People keep blaming Carney now. It’s at least the entire west. Makes no difference who is installed.

To get temp residency is easy. Criminal check and choose a visa (nomad, pensioner , entrepreneur etc). Gotta live here 8 months a year for the first couple of years and I think less by 3rd or 4th yr. After 5 years you’re a citizen. Somebody told me they heard a rumour that the 5 year residency will be scrapped and might become much shorter. Just a rumour though.

I’ve been thinking about this for a while now, how I can reasonably make it work.

There is nowhere near me that accepts bitcoin for anything. No services, groceries, clothing, nothing. I also don’t have access to Bullbitcoin or bill pay through Bitcoin Well, in America. The closest thing I have to it is Strike.

Strike lets you use your bitcoin balance to pay accounts linked through ACH. Problem is, they convert your BTC to fiat at the time of payment, charging you fee. You also will have to pay short term tax on any gains. My plan for now would be to use credit cards as much as possible, use the gained reward points to cover exchange fees, and just eat the taxes hoping they even out with any gains and losses eoy.

I’ll still need to use a bank account though to facilitate my direct deposit, and setup a weekly reoccurring purchase through Strike. If I use their direct deposit feature, they will charge me an exchange fee again. I will have to take advantage of their weekly reoccurring purchase to mitigate fees. It’s a ton of hoops to jump through but it will be worth it.

Ya in the states it’s tough to do if you have fiat income. IMHO , as long as all savings is in self custody ₿ , then ur in good shape. Any fiat income goes directly to pay bills and any leftover goes to ₿ self custody.

As for taxes, I’d recommend ignoring them. Let the penalties rack up. But of course , nfa

A little over a year ago now when I was orange pilled by ‘The Bitcoin Standard’ that’s exactly what I did, all my savings are in Bitcoin now, I’m all in.

It’s funny you should say that about taxes, I told my wife the other night that if it wasn’t for her and our child I probably wouldn’t pay any taxes at all. I’m so sick of supporting this government. But I can’t put my family at risk with the IRS cartel.
