Bitcoin = freedom because money is what
transmits value, not socializing or any other form.
Nostr only feels this good because we have Bitcoin integrated, thus being able to support each other with value for value.
Value for value = freedom
The tools we use to accomplish this trade of valuables are more akin to accessories supporting Bitcoin use vs "stand alone freedom solutions".

I like your Rubik's cube analogy with a little tweak.
We're basically discovering bitcoin's potential by adding accessories until they stick,
Kinda like having to discover one side of a Rubik's cube just to see the other needs solving, until it's "finished".
In this case it might be an infinitely impossible to finish cube, but every step takes us further/closer.

No. Mastodon is “account based” so whoever runs your server has control of “your” account and controls what other federated servers you can communicate with.
Nostr is “key based” so you really do own your identity, and can send your notes to any relays you want.
Adding #bitcoin to mastadon wouldn’t create nostr.

Yes technically is absolutely different platform/protocol and that isn’t my point. My point is that #nostr is amazing because it has Bitcoin integrated, using key-pairing and relays is awesome and I love this place but Bitcoin is why #nostr will take over and smash all the established social media.
There is a monetary incentive added to this protocol and and its… permission-less money, how fucking cool is that!?
