People don't get that the age of consent in much of the country is below 18 with many other caveats. The question i wonder is, if it was all perfectly legal and proven so, would people still call it pedophilia? I dunno. People use the "legal" dictates of the state to define their morality.

What's the issue? He is 100% correct. In almost all dictionaries, a pedophile is someone attracted to children. In almost all dictionaries, a child is a human between infancy and puberty.
The law certainly isn't clear in the US. The age of consent in most states is 16.
