You don’t need to “install” a Movie or a Song that is downloaded. Just play it.
A game one needs to install after download and is more prone to virus or backdoor stuff so tends to get more “purchase” oriented rather than freebie downloads.
That’s my take on it 🤓
That’s a dumb take brother
Just because of that, I wonder what would be like the possible nostr game store.
i want to see a game interfacing with nostr. Roblox has a really cool cloud asset system that their editor is hooked into. You can easily drop community generated assets into your level. You could do something like this on nostr.
A game could also publish achievements on nostr via badges.
Lots of interesting integration possibilities.
Games industry on consoles is not as much affected from pirating. Biggest media cake today.

Gaming is also bigger than several major sports leagues. I think it was PGA and NBA. I may be wrong though. It was years ago that I saw the stats.
And yet theres only 6 maybe 7 games in 3 decades worth playing. And 2 VR games.
Sensible Soccer is one of them.
I would argue that the gaming industry as we’ve seen AAA flops (Cyberpunk comes to mind), these past few years and the majors like CoD seemingly abandon their player base through poor incentives ultimately eliminate pro competitions. Nostr could be the lifeline gaming desperately needs to evolve to the next level. What happens to pay-to-play systems, player progression, character development, etc. when its teathered to real world PoW? Sats x Gaming are on a convergence.
P.S. Somebody needs to talk to Midnight Society before they launch Deadrop with a shitcoin. The closest anybody has gotten to grokking this seems like the Tarkov devs.
It really is a wonderful thing! #gamestr
much of it is fiat addiction stuff though.
Interactive Entertainment > Passive Entertainment
Would be interesting to see the profit distributions within. My hunch is that it is approaching winner-takes-all.
