I've got an episode coming out this week about home-birth

On the one hand - I want to make content about whatever I find interesting. I like angles where I have direct experience and can share specific decisions. Long term, if I make content due to it simply being about what I find interesting, I think it sets the podcast up for success

On the other - niche, niche, niche... an audience member comes for specific information, when you go off piste, they're potentially not interested in that stuff. Ie perhaps I should really just focus right in on the financial stuff all the time. But I don't podcast for anyone else, so long-term I feel this approach runs out of steam...

Time will tell!

Ps - everyone should consider home-birth. It's arguably safer for both the mother and child

Makes sense. If you only talk finance you'll probably burn out. Personal stories keep it fresh.

What’s the argument RE safety?

The hospital proponents quite rightly point to the benefits of being there to give birth when complications arise

But for most low risk pregnancies, not being in hospital can be far better to avoid the cascade of interventions

No drugs > No tools > No c-section

Means faster recovery for the mother, and a naturally born baby, which additional benefits for the baby

If you have appropriate support then yes I get that.

My Wife’s given birth 3 times in hospital with good result. In saying that it’s been in a country hospital which helps a lot.

Great! Well done to you and your wife. Ultimately it’s all about the more babies, however you get it to work

I’m doing my best to repopulate 😂

Would love 4 but I think it’s going to be a stretch

My wife and just talking about a 4th… they’re 5/3/1 now, so if going to go for it, would need to be in next 6 months

😜

Mine are 3, 21 months and 6 weeks old. If we’re going again we need to do go at the 18 month gap again. We’re getting too old 😂😂

90% of c-sections were never necessary.

C-sections alter the development of microbiome of baby. This continues to affects health of baby long term into adulthood, prone to health issues like asthma and obesity amongst others. Explains why obesity is on the rise.

Giving birth in the hospital birth is not safe at all.

Thats a fact.

100 + years ago, the reason why higher infant mortality was because of poor sanitation / open sewers. We dont have this problem any more.

Hospital births are not necssary and are infact dangerous.

Agree most C sections are not necessary. Coming through the birth canal is extremely beneficial for the baby as you said.

100 years ago there were many experienced women to assist with a “home birth”. The same isn’t easily available now.

I’ll completely disagree with your last comment.

30-40% of all births in most westerns countries are by c-section. And they are rising fast.

If you have a hospital birth you have a 30-40% chance of a c-secrion. 90% of c-sections not necssary.

I classify this as dangerous. Hence why giving birth in the hospital is dangerous.

You could use a different logic to justify why hospital births are safe. But I dont believe this would stand its ground for most normal people.

Rare exceptions where it might be advantagous to have a hospital birth doesnt make it safe for most people. Because unfortunately some sort of unnecessary treatment will be forced on you when you are there. And many of these treatments are dangerous (similar to a c-section). When you are a patient you are vulnerable and most people are pressurised to follow what the doctor says. Its "forced" all buttered up with patient consent.

As a general rule if I ever visit the hospital, I tread cautiously, and get out of there as fast as possible. You need to keep you guard up, when things seem innocent and harmless. This is the time to be extra vigilent.

The number of people that die because they are in hospital, if these numbers actually came out and became transparent, you would have a different view and be talking very differently.

My wife’s given birth to 3 children in a hospital. No pressure, no problems. I’m saying that, it is a country town hospital. I have heard plenty of horror stories from big city hospitals.

I could tell you about my personal experience giving birth at home ☺️ Giving birth is an experience that never fades. It's as if it happened just yesterday, no matter how much time has passed...

Bitcoin is an all encompassing niche so I think it works!

Connect this personal story to your financial niche. Why or how have the indirect values of Bitcoin led you to also recognize the value of what a home birth provides? To me the connection is obvious, but as you diverge from your niche on such episodes, you should aim to make the connection clear... Or just talk about whatever you want. People may stay or may go. Seek not to care about those metrics and keep doing you.

Nice. Great points. All about connecting the dots

Thanks for the suport!

Excellent strategy, excellent topic. Looking forward to it. Setting up the next gen for self-sovereignty from day 1

Very interesting thoughts, Jake. I believe the most important thing is to stay authentic and talk about what truly interests you listeners can feel that.

Follow your heart!

We had all of our children in our front room with an independent midwife and they were all incredible experiences with no intervention etc. agree, definitely the way to go!

Brilliant. What an amazing start to life and vibe!

Health & Wealth. I think these are 2 areas in people lives which are of the utt most importance.

Ive had to learn about Finance through Bitcoin.

I look at health in a similar way, we cant rely on health professionals doctors and experts, just like we cant rely on mainstream economists to teach us about finance and investing.

Although Health & Wealth seem very different, there is alot of overlap here, because people actively participating in learning about money also play a bigger interest in health too. Definitely the case with myself.

The two are also linked because of how the fiat system funds traditional western medicine. But i supoose fiat system funds all the big industries, so this link would exist with everything.

Bang on

I saw a presentation once “what’s the point of multi-generational wealth without multi-generational health”

Was so true

Will get that Dr on the podcast actually

You should definitely follow your interests and be authentic to yourself.

I am reminded of the YouTuber bald and bankrupt who until recently, didn't follow any established doctrine for running a YouTube channel. He is one of the most successful YouTubers around.

He has recently slotted in personal adds for VPNs which I find scammy, but I still follow his adventures 😂

There’s something contrarian in there I agree

Will have a crack!

Oh! I wonder what advices you can share! Giving birth in home is a new experience for every future mother, what the future mother need to do or think in before the new baby coming! And after the baby come! Express yourself! There will be people for what you really love to share! Never stop it friend 💗💖✨🌞🌄

Ep is out tomoz
