Gm,

Wanted to check the price of Monero today but when you start having to scroll pass pepecoin and eth classic, you know you're in the realm of worthless coins already so there's really no point

$219.15 on kraken

Ah, so half of where it was in 2018, 7 years ago and before USD also COVID inflated

Thanks for the update

Yeah mip420 is working as intended.

I respect their position given the CEX ban and general prohibition

don't you think there is something going on though when the "money" coin - with a name that evokes the concept of a coin at all, is treated differently to bitcoin?

like, that overt, excessive focus on privacy when it can be theoretically achieved simply with UTXOs and VPNs, has a net negative effect on its adoption and thus market cap?

I'm not trying to get into a monero debate I'm not an expert.

Im just saying It is impressive when something has its reach surpressed and it maintains its value vs competition

monero has a strong following on the darkweb, which is why its value has tracked very stable against the dollar, because traders peg their prices to it

but they are fanatics, and are blind to the fact that their token is not a store of value, only a means of payment, which means that nobody holds it and thus the supply rate is never going to fall below demand which means it can't become reserve asset and without that, it can't really become money!

i don't criticise the whole business because i'm a meany or i hate them or anything, they literally don't understand why they don't get better adoption, they don't understand that all kinds of factors come into play about why it is not remotely at risk of competing with bitcoin, and never will be, and efforts wasted on promoting it and developing it are a loss to the primary cause, which is to take control of money out of the hands of government and the oligarchies that control government

that's it, that's the whole problem

Oligarchs are currently taking over control of BTC.

You have to be blind to not see their agenda. Hail fiat NGU.

You also need to be blind for price suppression when it happens. Early adopters always thought about attacks and yes they happenedvsnd happen a lot to Monero while BTC is embraced. Makes you think?

This isn't reality. Your Bitcoin privacy is subpar.

Lightning and ecash are both better for privacy and better for small transactions and can actually scale

Monero has only good principle but no actual viable tech

I agree they can both be better for privacy but neither are Bitcoin. I disagree with your other point. Bulletproofs, Ring CTs, and Dandelion ++ aren't viable?

Anything that relies on Blockchains to process transactions can't scale, especially ones that trades off bloat for privacy (ring ct) - if everyone used it, nobody could run a full node

You need different layers that make different trade offs to actually be viable

Lightning is definitely Bitcoin, you can trustlessly revert back to mainchain at anytime

> I don't have a reason to disagree.

> Lightning has to be reverted back to the mainchain, which is Bitcoin. Lightning isn't Bitcoin.

I'm also more of a fan of Lightning and Ecash than Monero.

That's just semantics. It's like saying a dollar bill is not an actual dollar but a representation of it.

LN is just a band-aid solution for the scalability problems that plagues BTC

been a while since an asinine

Monero rage bait post from nostr:nprofile1qqsw9n8heusyq0el9f99tveg7r0rhcu9tznatuekxt764m78ymqu36cpz4mhxue69uhkvun9deejuat50phjummwv5hsz8rhwden5te0wfjkccte9e3xjarrda5kuurpwf4jucm0d5hsz9thwden5te0wfjkccte9e6hg7r09ehkuef0avzrjf

no actual viable tech?

what not "viable" about stealth addresses?

Ring CT?

Dandelion++?

Monero is literally mostly tech proposed for Bitcoin and then abandoned.

Cope harder bro πŸ™

Anyone on the path cannot see where the payment is coming from

It's also untrue that you can identify payments with a well funded node, if payments don't flow through your node you can't see shit

This note is incorrect on many levels

My understanding is they would only see the previous hop and the next hop. Do you know about this unique ID? I think nostr:nprofile1qqs99d9qw67th0wr5xh05de4s9k0wjvnkxudkgptq8yg83vtulad30gpp4mhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mqpz3mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduq32amnwvaz7tmgd9ehgtnwdaehgu3wd3skueqyluj3x meant the well funded entities can create big nodes that have frequently used channels. I'm learning here.

that β€œunique ID” is the payment hash

At least you tried

Monero bros will ALWAYS be in shambles. πŸ’β€β™‚οΈ

They all either:

A) Sniped the launch a decade ago & missed the arbitrage window.

OR

B) Were exit liquidity & are praying their bags come back from the Marianas Trench.

Either way they are cucks & need to take a seat in the corner chair. πŸ€™

You would spot a trend reversal when it happens?

>Uses literal surveillance blockchain

>Coin not enough of a threat to get delisted or banned anywhere.

>Merging more with TradFi and falling out of favor on the darknet markets.

>Custodial + surveillable lightning wallet in bio

"Yall are cucks!"

You are the fool if you believe fiat valuation has any meaning. They print it and allocate it as they see fit. Their main goal is manipulate the masses. So it's an expected outcome for a coin that works and is under constant attack.

We all know 1XMR = 1XMR unlike BTC that 1BTC β‰  1BTC 😘

"if Cantillionaires aren't pumping the fiat value, I think its worthless"

fixed it for you.
