Are you going run GrapheneOs?

Everyone is asking this

😂😂😂

... Guilty as charged. XD

Planning to drop GrapheneOS on it? :)

I’m thinking of getting one for myself.

I am getting one next week. Please share your thoughts. I know it's already asked here, but are you planning to use GrapheneOS on it?

You installing #GrapheneOS?

Noice!

Wny are these phones so popular with people that like to have a "de-googled" phone. Seems's counter intuitive to buy a phone made by google, but I don't know anything about anything .

Because they're the most open phones out there. The Android Open Source Project is made to run on these devices. They're developer phones. So, naturally, developers build open source software for them since all of the source code and binaries are available for this hardware.

Because Pixel is the only one that is supported by GrapheneOS, and the hardware is great.

It's an effective androidOS phone because it can update androidOS longer than others & install grapheneOS.

de-google that spy device.

Dropped my 6 into some water last month and it never recovered, forced an early upgrade. Big improvement in shooting video over the 6.

I think it's a great phone and you'll enjoy it tremendously.

nice. going to play with stock os or switching to custom room right away? if yes, which?

I’m so envy you because it does not have Google’s official stores or distributors in my country. 😔🇹🇭

How about buying one (maybe refurbished or second hand) on Amazon or eBay?

I want to switch to a Pixel but the Apple universe is hard to escape.

You gonna degoogle that bad boy? Run a lil GrapheneOS?

Yes considering

You lose some features but also lose Google watching over your shoulder 24/7. I say do it 1st before you even get used to the phone as it ships. That way you won't be missing anything lol.

My 7 is scheduled to arrive tomorrow. I haven't decided whether to Graphene or not

I think I’ll try it!

F it I'll join you we can exchange stories

If you are coming from iOS, I usually recommend staying with the default pixel experience for the first few months. Otherwise, it's hard to know the difference between designs and bugs from an official version that almost everyone uses to the ones from open source teams.

The open source keyboard, for instance, kinda sucks on Graphene.

Noted. I was a pixel guy for years - only jumped back to iOS because my wife got a free phone. So I'm really returning home. But no experience with Graphene, so good looking out.

Welcome!

Welcome

Read this, in case you were hesitating to install Graphene

Been a pixel user for years now; very happy.

i hope you get lucky. the quality control on pixel devices is terrible. i had a pixel 7 myself and the screen glitches because the back connector is not attached properly
