I don’t understand what problem you have with the ‘reasoning’ of Bitcoiners though. It’s really very simply and sane logic. I’m sure you’ve heard it before, but I’ll spell it out one last time for you.
Governments can issue money to fund their desires at no cost, therefore allowing them to potentially act against the will of their constituents while devaluing their citizens currency.
Bitcoin is a system where no government or individual can control the issuance of money, and therefore forces governments to spend responsibly and in accordance to the will of their people, as well as allows everyone around the world to have savings which maintain value over time without investment risk. Since this system is a net benefit over the current one, demand will increase with time. Considering Bitcoins supply is fixed and the new issuance is decreasing, the value of a Bitcoin will increase.
What are your other questions or criticisms?
I’ll stick with bitcoin, you read the books I’ll meet you back here in 10 or so when more currencies have collapsed do to govt manipulation and mismanagement.

In fact, we don’t even know the cost of anything until it’s priced on a bitcoin standard. There’s generational price manipulation to benefit the issuers themselves. Until we completely clear the cache, I trust the price of nothing.
Human flourishing on a bitcoin standard is truth. Money that isn’t weaponized by the issuer is pure. Only then will the “cost of capital” have an actual meaning, imo

It’s not so much about competence IMHO. It’s more about human nature, like in animal farm, Macbeth or brave new world.
Competency is required to intentionally hinder human flourishing at that scale. It is very much an issue of competency and foresight. I agree that the centralization presents issues since the cost of mistakes is much higher than in a decentralized system. There’s also the problem of iterations which is harder with more centralized systems. He’s in favor because he thinks the system is out to get him; I’m in favor because I think the system is fundamentally incompetent. Make sense?
