I have hung on a bar (usually my squat rack) nearly every day for the past 10 months and I'm convinced both my upper body physique and grip strength have improved dramatically because of that

curious how much time is good to start and build up to. interested in doing this regularly now

If it is hard to hang from a bar at all, just start with your toes on the ground for 30 seconds at a time.

From there, go to toes off hanging normally for 30 seconds, then 45, then a minute.

From there you can target a thicker bar, start going one-handed, etc

it’s fingers where I get the pain. hopefully that improves with practice

Ah yes. One way to improve finger strength is with a bucket of rice!

oh that’s a good use for empty carbohydrates

Ye there are tons of YouTube videos with small rice bucket workouts you can do for your hands

They definitely did.

Love it 👊

For sure!

How long you hanging now?

Averaging around 1:30 so far, so I have a long ways to go still haha

Nice. What’s your goal time you’re working towards?

I'd say 2 mins is sick, then after that being able to do one arm for a minute for both arms!!

Right on. 👍

Keep up the good work. 💪

Thank you, likewise with yours!!

Thanks much

Yes

Prob helped the ole spine as well and kept you from shrinking

It’s an excellent exercise for posture, spine, and shoulder health. Even great for your core if you straighten the body out as well

Hanging is amazing
