A self sovereign, consorship resistant social media protocol. Memes, code, bitcoin and shit posting.
So we like zap people and stuff. And we like, say stuff like GM PV and Wabi Sabi. And then like, sometimes plebstrs do like coffee chains and stuff. So like, ya.

"think of napster but for posts instead of songs"
It's usenet with pictures.
Nostr is a social media protocol without algo. You can make 1 unique profil to access many clients and different apps. BTC Lightning is integrated ⚡️
Fixing everything that sucks about the modern internet
Freedom tech P2P social media with freedom tech money circulating as tips for content appreciation 🤙🏼
It's fun without Elon or Zuck.
It's facebook, but you can't get banned.
Twitter, but without a centralized server, run on multiple servers, uses BTC for supporting creators you like, but it's blockchain-based, meaning once you post something, it's there permanently.

Unless they are an engineer, only talk about what it can do. Not how or why. e.g. no one can censor you, no ragebait, etc

Myself, personally, Nostr feels like the internet as it was back then - at least in theory.
Depends on their age and their computer literacy for me.
If they're young I tell them about siloed walls.
If they're old I tell them about the days of Dial-Up.
No one seems to give a shit about owning their own data, no adverts, no censorship, zaps or the ability to create ANYTHING you want on this protocol. It's quite astounding.
