having a bad relationship with food and it took me very long to realize... I was caring for quality but would rather eat nothing than something. And when I'm too hungry but nothing to cook, I start eating crap.
Anyone can relate?

Yes, I try to eat healthy, I also work most the day, get off work at night, then I get hungry late at like, sometimes midnight or later and the only thing open is fast food places, bad.
what stops you from meal prepping/ just cooking?
For me its lack of cooking skill and habits. Impressed by people that easily bring up a meal plan like every week while working fulltime
Would yβall be interested in a Cornychat where I can try to share what I know / do?
that would be cool!
would love to ask you some questions along the chat then :)
Would a Monday night work for yβall? I could also do Tuesday night but have to stop right at 8 pm New York time.
If your time zones work better with New York time zone mornings / afternoons, Monday is best for me, some times Tuesday can also work.
timeframe 7-10 CET would work for me on monday, or maybe on weekends. tuesdays won't work for me. :)
Do you mean 19:00-22:00 CET?
Sorry I dropped the ball on this! I would still love to do it.
nostr:npub1ymt2j3n8tesrlr0yhaheem6yyqmmwrr7actslurw6annls6vnrcslapxnz is also interested; letβs all coordinate when we could meet!
good morning :)
On vacation the upcoming week but afterwards seems good π
NICE. Enjoy π₯°
Uh oh idk all these fancy time zones π I hope itβs not like 3am for me, but I will still show up if it is
19:00 CET is 13:00 for me, so I think itβs 10 am for you
Okay phew. That definitely works
cool peoples now we just need a date for our date :)
Howβs this upcoming Monday, Aug 18 at the above time? If that works for all three of yβall Iβll make a post about it and see if other interested parties can join.
i have pretty good willpower at the store and not much access to crap if i make it out of there π
eventually you get hungry and cooking is great. also helps having leftovers avail. still, i do loves me some crap sometimes
haha getting weak sometimes π
not the biggggest fan of cooking but will integrate it better into my routine, kitchen management is something I need to learn
enjoy some crappp π
I go through pretty much exactly the same thing sometimes. I generally try to eat quality food and cook at home but sometimes let myself get too hungry because I donβt have anything easily available or feel too tired to cook. When Iβm too hungry I donβt necessarily make the best choices..
For me Iβve found it more difficult since Iβve been going in to the office more often for work rather than working at home all the time.
this! you say it. many are feeling like that probably - food should take more space in the day of a modern life!
Feeling this at the moment. A new job in the office is messing with my food chi.
I need to re-establish some new routines around when to buy, cook or decide in advance what to eat when Iβm too tired for either (thatβs remotely healthy).
I find that I eat my stress so I need to be more mindful about that too.
Yes, it helps to have always something or several things to fall back to when you don't know what to cook now.
thats true!! fun fact, have nothing at home right now because fridge broken π ππ€·πΌββοΈ
No canned or dried food or something that lasts a few days outside? What do you eat usually? π
note, i am especially "fed up" for the last few days lol π by routine and by habits.
love my spaghetti aglio e olio or chilli/curry but also want to eat more fresh living food - but one thing at a timeee
Totally. Especially now during pregnancy. I am hungry and would like to eat something good quality (steak, beef meet, local veggies etc) and when there is nothing like that at home (but still some average food) I end up eating sweet pastry and feel bad about it π«£
mama eating for two π₯° pastry is very tasty but mean π
Yes, it's inevitable and relatable..
We need to replace toxic food with high quality and healthy snacks, so it's not available for us at home under the eyes.
Those a little bit more unhealthy things should be hidden somewhere, so it's hard to find in regular basis.
That's what I do.
thats good advice π just need to manage to have healthy snacks available everyday, then I would ignore the junk
Absolutely! For me food prep is the key. If I don't have something reletively quick to grab I make very bad decisions.
thats it.
whats your prep routine? once a week?
I know I shouldn't comment on this... But it's tickling my fingers... So: It's a lifelong decision to only put food into my body that provides me with real, vibrant energy. No excuses. No ifs, ands, or buts. Plan, prepare, and make it a priority. Always have something with you, be it some nuts and dried fruit, or fruit. Because everything else will take its toll. On a physical, emotional, and spiritual level. Because I'm worth it. For me, enjoyment is connected to long-term health and happiness, not just to satisfying some unprocessed emotions.
And yes, I also crave sometimes chocolate. But I make my own chocolate... ;)
I really admire your decisions and you're truly an inspiration for all the overwhelmed souls out there, trying to fully acknowledge and go that exact path π
Thank you dear! We are all inspiring in our very unique ways. And we are all on our personal journey.
You know, control can also be pathological. And sometimes I wonder if my clear line has become pathological control ;) ...But I know it's not pathological, because I make my decisions consciously and from the heart. I don't suffer in the process. It is not a painful renunciation or envying others because they indulge in junk food. I'm grateful to myself for my clarity, grounding, my views, and reflection. Grateful that I don't allow myself to be seduced. Neither by my own unprocessed emotions nor by what the mainstream offers. I simply say YES to life π
btw our fridge was broken too, but still cooled... Gladly we received a new one in just a short time last Friday π Hope you got a solution as well π
Thanks, my brain has burned this note into memory for some reason. For the past six months, it has been helping me to counteract this bad habit π« #v4v
thanks for coming back π« I also worked on that habit and I'm also doing way better! πͺπΌ so grateful for nostr right now π
Have you ever asked yourself these questions?
"What is the meaning of life?"
"My life?" "Your life?"
