unfortunately most of the research I do for my irl job, comes from journalist, computer scientists and researchers that exclusively post on twitter ))): & from time to time I pick up some pepe memes from the tl (they’re still the dankest over there)
I didn’t quit TikTok yet because I never joined.

99% of my time is YT and Nostr - No Tic Tok and occasionally will browse Twitter when I want to get depressed

I feel you, but what’s to respect though? Odell is being hypocritical and should be called out accordingly. He is literally posting about judging people for having Twitter, while having a Twitter account, lol. Obviously in a general sense, to each their own, and people (Odell included) can enjoy whatever platforms they like. However, Odell has been extremely vocal about the ills of Twitter. Case in point, have you listened to TFTC the last few months? Odell has been ribbing Marty incessantly about the blue check issue (rightfully so), to the point that their flow has simply seemed off and I started to think they were just ideologically distancing from each other and that Odell might just focus on Dispatch.

The first step, to make it easy, would be to get a Nostr account and build an audience there simultaneously with twitter. Then over time they can hopefully decide to switch over entirely.
I myself used both, because most of my followers are not on Nostr. But perhaps if I was able to find the same quality content on Nostr, then it would be easier to switch.
I shall continue to keep up appearances & just stop using it once my new phone shows up & #grapheneos is installed on it.

Longtime freak, but sadly you’re being a hypocrite. I was shocked to learn during a recent TFTC that you’re still on Twitter, regardless of the rationale. As a long time listener, TFTC has felt fractured/strained for the last few months w/you sulking over Marty being on Twitter (albeit over blue check), to the detriment of the flow of the podcast. I’m not mad, just disappointed.
We all need to axe Twitter -- just not for the reasons mentioned in that guy's video. Nostr's the only place I belong.
I find it so disappointing that so-called awake, freedom loving individuals I know have not even bothered to explore Nostr or get an account, despite my attempts to purple pill them. It's crazy because I'm one the least techy people I know (of my generation) and I'm such a late adopter!! I didn't even get a FB account for donkey's years, until I was forced into it due to my kids' activities being organised within groups. I had a brick phone until 2016. I've only ever owned 2 smartphones. I'm on my 2nd. And yet, when I heard about Nostr and after witnessing the rampant censorship over the past few years, I thought this is it! This is what's needed. I made the big push to learn and do what it took to show up and get myself here. It was almost as challenging as learning bitcoin! 😂 It makes me think those people are just full of hot air (or something else 💩). I guess some of them might say, if they want to reach the "normies" they have to be on those platforms but, if you say all that stuff about decentralisation, building alternatives, exiting big tech blah blah then why are they not here helping to build it anyway, even if their "audience" isn't here yet? It makes me wonder if they just want other people to build it so they can come here when it's all done for them 🤷♀️ but then maybe I shouldn't try to guess what other ppl think.

Sometimes twatter forces one to quit. In my case 4 times already....😇 I ask why, but i get no reply. I think it wants me to subscribe.
