Rules have to be fuzzy so they can manipulate them however they want and lock up whoever they want.
I believe that was the last real big default the government went through and when we were officially taken off the gold standard… if I recall foreign governments were cashing in their gold backed dollars and taking our gold as fast as they could so the govt rebased the dollar off of gold

Yes sure. But the problem with KYC started with the internet. Before you had no reason to need something like that because people that commerce with you are physacly present
True for KYC but money laundring existed way before internet.
In a way you are right, it's like these people showing the price of things in bitcoins since 2009, of courde when bitcoin had no reconized value, value 0, you need infinite bitcoins to buy a candy, kind of silly.
And the peak startet BB (before bitcoin) so i would guess it has more to do with monetary expansion then bitcoin.

What if they bought something legitimate? I think the assumption here is all these cases involve a crime. BUT, if they involve a crime why do we need money transmission laws? Why not just prosecute the crime committed?
This is the police state. This is how a communist Gov works - they can convict you and put you in jail even if you are doing nothing wrong.

It's absolutely insane people are being jailed/fined for doing NOTHING wrong! The ONLY crime here is paying someone for something.
Can there be a crime for moving money? I don't think there can be. If a crime is committed, then the LAW would be enforced. If this is not the police state, what is?
