The flu stole two weeks of my life… what do you do to stay healthy? #asknostr

Elderberry syrup, tons of vitamin D, C and Host Defense mushroom supplements for immunity
Thanks man! I do suspect I lack vitamin D. Not much sunlight over here. Do you supplement vitamin D at all?
Daily training. A lot of eggs and meat. 🍖 🥩 No fast food, no softdrinks, no frozen pizza.
And if flu symptoms really start I drink a lot of tea. I mean really a lot… like one cup after the other. So much that you can rent ‚hotel toilet’ for half of the day. Ribgrass mainly. Camomile and Peppermint too.
I have 2 kids. It’s impossible to do anything about it. They drag everything home 😢
Sauna
1,000 mg "slow/timed/delayed release" vitamin C, daily, for life.
Steak 🥩 , Eggs 🥚,Sun ☀️, Vitamin D during Winter and a lot of Sleep 😴
I only get flu after traveling, but I luv traveling 🙃
"Raw" eggs and milk, banana, blend, drink.
Gargling with high concentrated salt water.
Reduction of garbage food in general.
red meat
You don't actually have any way of knowing if it was flu or COVID. If you used a home test, it was pointless, they've never been accurate. If you didn't, then the pandemic denialism of saying "flu" is even more baseless.
1. ZERO SUGAR, ZERO ALCOHOL.
2. For real, no sugar or alcohol.
3. Vitamin C daily. Routinely I take 5g in the morning. Half and half ascorbic acid and sodium ascorbate in lukewarm water.
(The dosage may vary – if you're rushed to the toilet, decrease the dosage next time). If I feel any first symptoms of a cold, I take 5g several times during the day. Usually it's enough to stop the cold from developing.
4. My first symptoms is a slightly sore throat. If my vitamin C is not enough, I gargle with sage infusion. Sage is crazy effective.
5. Read the 1. again.
The above method stops the virus from spreading in my system. I don't suffer from colds. The last time I had a fever or a cough. was during the covid years, because I missed the point 1. Nowadays I'm not affected by the cold/flu season at all.
Looks like you got a lot of advice here, but along with eating healthy and exercise. Meditation will help your body stay in a parasympathetic state and frees your mind from all the chaos (stress)
I take vaccine against flu. Helps me a lot
Kettlebell swings, walking a few miles a day (outside -- get that sunlight!), 8-9 hours of sleep whenever possible (ideally, at the same time each night, but hard when my kid's hockey practices are in the middle of the night and work starts at 5:30 am...), 8+ cups of water a day. I like Mud\Wtr for energy and general wellbeing I get from the blend of adaptogenic mushrooms, though am currently amassing the ingredients to start making my own at 1/5 the cost. Almost never sick, despite living with my kid and my wife who's a teacher. Oh, I and eat a lot of protein -- like 100-200g+ a day. And avoid most processed foods, though sometimes better than others on the sweets Processed here meaning most things from the middle of the grocery store -- I still love my casein protein powder, but prefer avoiding dyes, preservatives, stabilizers, conditioners, etc. Recently ditched seed oils in the kitchen.
Also fasting for Ramadan for the second year in a row right now. Not a Muslim, but I know a practice that builds discipline, purity, and focus where I see one. Cutting down on food cravings when my wife and kid love showing up with pizza and other crap is always an uphill battle.
Home made bone broth!
