This afternoon i've been practicing how to verify a download using sha256sum on my linux mint laptop. I used the terminal, and once i learned the steps its actually pretty easy. I know this is very elementary stuff for you techie folks, but for me its another step in improving my digital security practices. I feel a tiny bit more empowered. #OneStepAtATime #AlwaysLearning

I have not had time to do that stuff, most of my tech time is spent on web dev/server admin.

So you're ahead of me, in that regard πŸ™Œ

Nice. πŸ‘

Nice! I should be doing that with more of my downloads πŸ˜…

Hey, good for you. That's a big step. πŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺ

Thanks Cheese😊

You did another important step when we did that GrapheneOS install. You verified that the factory image was signed by the GOS devs with their signing key. It was in the middle of the process there, so it didn't really stand out.

Oh, yes, i had forgotten all that. My brain was getting kinda tired after all the little issues i had with that. I would never have figured it all out without your help.😊

That's the way to move... 🧑🧑⚑⚑

seriously impressive! way to go!

Pgp as well?

No, not yet😊

When u open up to learning, it's an automatic level up.. πŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺ⚑

Yo! That is not elementary stuff. You’re killing it πŸ‘ congrats

Thanks😊

You're ahead of 99% of other people!

Dont know about that, but its a step for me😊

Next stage, cryptographic principles!

Awesome. Next you can verify the pgp signature.

Maria

you get a follow because you are educating yourself rather than telling yourself it's too hard.
