If I can work and get paid for it while I am in the train… most of the people I know that use trains use it for that reasons, they can work while commuting.

That’s the one thing that I can see remains a differentiator. Having the time of the travel to yourself and not needing to focus on driving. But that’s still, imo, stretching the value to its absolute limits. A $400-500 round trip is ridiculous, imo. Maybe more infra down the road will improve this somehow.

It is expensive, even by Swiss standards. Money, most people get only the smell of it, some « live » near the faucet

It says the "round trip" is ~&150-300. So half that for one way.

OH! that’s actually substantially better than what I thought. Should’ve read closer

A local told me that at one point, Brightline was offering free shuttles (in a Tesla) from the train station to your destination (within some predefined radius) for trips between west palm beach and Miami.

So it's convenient if you're visiting family or someone with a car at your destination.... otherwise, you're stuck ubering everywhere at your destination.

At least while scrolling on Nostr you can find a few good conversations, involving real human beings 😆

So driverless cars will most likely kill all demand for passenger rail... Good
