I need to move out of LA.
Too soon for farm life?
I need to move out of LA.
Too soon for farm life?
Never
I WANT one
Pure life
I want goats, pigs, and alpacas 😂🙏
If you're getting alpacas, you have to come to TX so I can buy their fleece and start spinning yarn.
lol puzzles is interested, I’m not convinced
Never
Never too soon, I would say the sooner the better. When we young we adapt much easier. I think. 🫂🦋
San Diego is the better Southern California city, not as much traffic and better outdoor venues
I hear that the better Southern California city right now is Austin though.
Everyone’s going to Texas for some reason
I love LA and San Diego both, and in fact for many years I dreamed of living there.
But if I ever gave in to the incessant demands from my main client that I move to the US (I am from and live in Barcelona and work from there for this US company), I am sad to say that today I would never move to California, despite having some of my closest friends in LA.
If you're from there or have been there forever, I totally understand why you wouldn't want to move though.
It’s because we’ve been here for a while and own a house with a cheap mortgage
Have never traveled to Barca... It's on the bucket list... Did meet some cool people from Spain and could see myself living there at some point
I used to live in Salamanca and loved it
Local cultural snippet #1: Barça (pronounced "Barsa") is the football team. The city is either "BCN" or "Barna".
Spain is a great place to live -- if you have a foreign salary/income. And it's larger and a lot more diverse than it looks, geographically.
Short of the big American outdoors, with infinite prairies and woodlands and deserts, you can pick and choose whatever climate you prefer. You have wet cool regions, parched sun-burnt ones, oceanside, continent, mountains, plains...
Only reason I'd move to Austin is for the Bitcoin community there, otherwise weather is much better in SD year round
I hate Austin actually xD I spent some time in Texas a couple of years ago and I can't understand how people change California for that place -- no disrespect, but it's just... not it.
Even if I totally understand the taxation and guns thing.
It’s just so complicated because everywhere has pros and cons
Denver and Nashville have some solid Bitcoin communities. What are y’all’s take on those locations?
*from Houston*
Nashville for sure with Bitcoin Park. Cost of living is cheap comparatively...I did hear that a new Bitcoin space opened up in Denver recently and there are some npubs that could give more you more info nostr:npub1hte85nxymfyez0nlmmxf287nh9cujfuetxhk9vptwcdqg0pn8pxqxasw3d
It’s never to late
Listen to your gut feelings
It’s never to soon

Plenty of rain in Good Ole New England
That’s where I grew up and escaped 😂
I was just discussing something similar with someone else. It's NEVER too late move out of a crowded city like LA! Moving out of NYC was a massive relief. I would love to start a small farm somewhere near the rockies in Colorado. They also have better weed than New York😉, so there's that, too.
Ooo yeah that’s another thing. We want to move somewhere where weed is legal so we don’t have to deal with all the shenanigans

Never too soon.
I've tried it. Always end up moving back into town. I love the peace and quiet for a day or 2, then I find myself craving company and stimulation and spending even more time online that usual 😋
Its like any other addiction. Need months not days to adjust.
I lived out there for 6 months. Super happy to be back in the Big Smoke.
Mind you, by international standards most of our "big cities" are medium-sized towns. I've got a tree-lined river, and a tree-lined gully, and a giant tree-lined park, all within a few minutes walk of my house.
Just get out of there before the shitty management kills y'all. We live in a literal giant forest and never have fires. But no weed. Louisiana maybe. Northern Louisiana is nice. You can buy a ranch and have money left over with what a CA house sells for. Think of all the baby animals you could have.
nope
Just come to OC.
Maybe. I used to live there, but it got really expensive. We wanted a yard for the dogs
Yeah it’s pretty much the same rent as LA now? Depends what part of OC. Much more livable IMO. Having a house / yard though… that’s pricey. We’ve got a spot with a dog park in the complex which is 👌🏼
That’s the other thing, we don’t rent anymore and interest rates are ridiculous right now so it might be a while before we can move
Do it.. I'm pretty keen after encountering the mindset of those in the country.

Here is a Bespoke Memetic Artwork made just for you Noshole.
I lived in many big cities for a good majority of my adult life. It was not until I discovered what really matters that I began to question if where I was and what I was doing was the best life for me. Leaving the big cities behind and moving up to the rural mountains to start my own homestead was the best decision of my life.
Farming is a way of life that not many people understand until they have done the hard rewarding work themselves. From learning when and how to grow your favorite crops. To raising your own livestock for eggs and meat to have the freshest organic meals possible without need for a grocery store. There is no better way to live in my honest opinion.
It is not without its challenges and hardships. From crop failures to waking up in the middle of the night to run outside with your rifle to fend off the bear attacks from eating your livestock. It is a life full of dangerous beauty and infinite rewards. Moving out into the country and connecting with actual real people. Not the fake personas that people in the big cities put on to get them to like you. Farmers help each other and they are a tightly knit community. They are very welcoming for those who are serious about leaving old ways of life behind to become one of them.
I encourage you to take a good deep hard look into your soul. Look in the mirror and ask yourself if being in touch with nature feels right. Becoming in tune with the seasons and connecting with the world in a way that you never thought possible. Is absolutely amazing once you actually experience it for yourself. Plus all the best homegrown glorious cannabis you can grow is quite the cherry on top too.
If you need help researching a place to find a new home I am well versed in real estate, farm life, homesteading, and even growing medical grade cannabis all on professional level. With many years of experience and knowledge under my belt. Just know that you are not alone during this time of devastation sorrow and grief. There are people like me and others here on Nostr who genuinely want you to succeed and live your best life. All you have to do is ask for our help and we will provide it.
