I’ve noticed three distinct responses wrt the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve.

No-coiners: Totally unaware. Didn’t know it happened. Couldn’t tell you the current Bitcoin price either.

Bitcoin Tourists: Bummed the announcement didn’t instantly pump their bags. Anxious the top may be in this cycle. Considering selling some.

Real Bitcoiners: Euphoric, bullish, regardless of short term price action, knowing the long term paradigm shift to a Bitcoin standard is well underway.

Not all "Real" bitcoiners are not euphoric about government theft sir

Right. I don't want the government to ever hodl because I want it to wither and die.

Real Bitcoiners want p2p money separated from state. Why would we want the government stealing Bitcoin and holding it for themselves?

There also the people that will hate it because President Trump helped make it happen.

I feel like in the very short term this explains the why we’re not pumping. Trump admin just seems extremely chaotic, and who knows how long he’ll be friendly to bitcoin. This is the same guy who said Mexico will pay for The Wall and wants to build hotel casinos in Gaza. Once people realize that he’s just jumping on an unstoppable train and not getting off, then we’ll see an explosion in price.

I think if Trump wants what's best for America, which I think he does, he will friendly to #Bitcoin here on our.

What's best for the US government is the opposite of what's best for America.

Yea I was surprised that basically no one outside of Bitcoin or crypto people are even acknowledging that it happened. Like Elon, who's companies hold billions of dollars worth of Bitcoin hasn't even mentioned it on Twitter. Surprising IMHO.

Shrug. More cheap sats for us 😎

We are witnessing "Shadow Ban 2.0". Corporate social media by using additional trackers can not only reduce reach of individual media creators (without their knowledge), but also specific subjects and even topics like Bitcoin adoption.

#beaware

not all "real" bitcoiners are euphoric about bitcoin being used by US government to prolong the life of its parasitic financial system & it's colonial empire.

4) Real bitcoiners who don't want the time-thieving state to be empowered any more than it already is.

Why would real Bitcoiners who are in it to separate money and state be euphoric about the state - the biggest state to ever exist - stacking bitcoin?

Bitcoin don’t GAF about the state.

The interesting thing here is that the state now needs Bitcoin.

It’s a semaphore, a harbinger.

Bitcoin Standard is happening in real time.

>”Bitcoin don’t GAF about the state.”

Bitcoiners do though.

Bitcoiners are the network which gives Bitcoin value.

Without them, it’s no different to any other crypto shitcoin.

You lose them, you lose the decentralisation, you lose the security, you lose the value, you’re back to a new version of gold.

The state doesnt need Bitcoin - it needs anything to get itself out from under the mess the state created and Bitcoin just happens to be the easiest and best thing to cling on to.

Bitcoiners don’t need the State - the State needs Bitcoiners to save them from their own shitshow.

We should aspire to more than bailing out the State.

You can at least admit it’s a harbinger of #HBZ?

I could not care less if the state stacked sats, but there will be signs

Don’t assume that all hyperbitcoinisation is equal.

There are paths and scenarios which are very much deadends and bad for Bitcoin.

This idea that everything is good for Bitcoin is naive child’s play pushed by podcasters who want to sell you on a fairytale instead of being realistic about downsides

Not euphoric, just amazed watching the game theory playing out

Many paths, one destination.

Path dependence is a real thing.

Who has control matters.

Why are we accepting fiat politicians continuing their reign when they’ve done nothing but fuck things up for 100+ years?

Do Bitcoiners really think they couldn’t do better?

This is the PM in charge of my country. We had a guy who shat his pants at McDonalds before him and a guy who ate a raw onion on camera before that - you think I couldn’t find a more impressive Bitcoiner than these cunts?

https://v.nostr.build/VaPJhnthuTYEQIQc.mp4

I’m sure you know all of this…

A) it’s fixed at 21m,

B) it’s infinitely divisible,

C) they’ll never own enough,

D) the network effect outpaces any one holder,

E) governments are inherently short-sighted, they will sell and redistribute the coins at some point,

F) them publicly holding Bitcoin and making a strategic reserve only helps it gain momentum,

G) the worst thing that could happen to Bitcoin, is if people stop talking about Bitcoin

Governments owning Bitcoin is really not a bad thing. We’re still winning!

I didn’t just come up with my ideas 5 minutes ago

Of course. I get the paranoia, I just think it’s good to have all different opinions out there. I really appreciate that you take the time to discuss these topics.

From my point of view I totally agree Bitcoiners should prepare for state aggression. I also believe Bitcoin was designed with state attacks in mind and that the decentralisation, resilience, and adaptability of Bitcoin will outlast state control tactics.

States were eventually going to come, it’s game theory. The real play is to educate people on privacy, self-custody, and running their own infrastructure. That’s how we win. The more the state pushes the tighter the community will become.

I also believe the individual is more powerful than the collective, that’s why black markets always exist. No state can outmanoeuvre millions of independent actors making free decisions. Bitcoin gives the individual the power to survive outside of their system. It’s so fucking brilliant, we’re just still so early to this.

Keep fighting however you choose! 🙏🧡

Real bitcoiners 🤟😉🧡⚡️🏴‍☠️

Real bitcoins aren't fucking statists.

The state breathes the same air, drinks the same water, and lives on the same earth as bitcoiners. It was inevitable they would use (read: bend the knee) the same money.

Being euphoric and bullish for them doing so, is just being euphoric and bullish for bitcoin in general, because that's the operating system of a bitcoiner regardless of what happens. This moment was always going to happen... how could it not?

So yeah, we're psyched, not because of being statist, but because there was never any reason to not be psyched as bitcoin unleashes itself upon the world.

Well said.

It’s fascinating that you perceive the state as a living entity. I’ve encountered individuals who view the state as a deity or a higher authority, but never as a living being.

Well it is comprised of people.

The State is an abstraction, a fiction maintained by those who accept its legitimacy. The State is an extension of herd morality... it supports those who seek comfort, security, and equality over self-overcoming and excellence. The State is an institution that stifles individual greatness and promotes mediocrity.

Your heart is in the right place, Snotklap, but you are naive if you think you can realize the changes you seek without wielding collective power.

https://primal.net/e/nevent1qqs05xpkxaxu8vhuddyyjlvttuzfxv09g5sy3peqhaqjtptyh6suuegpz5v8y

No, I do not seek to bend the herd to my will, nor to chain myself to its desires. Let those who need the State cling to it, as weaklings cling to crutches.

Sounds like you are addicted to losing, then.

Do you not see? The moment you seize collective power, you are no longer the sculptor... you are the clay. The herd does not serve the strong; it devours them, makes them its priests, its functionaries, its slaves.

I've already won, I want you to win.

My friend, we are both the sculptor and the clay.

It is possible to have a benevolent government. I know it’s hard to believe today. But there have been good emperors of Rome, good presidents of the United States, good kings in European history.

Admitting defeat without even trying to improve governance isn’t noble, it’s pathetic.

True power is not in ruling over others, but in rising beyond them. Do not accept the moral and social frameworks imposed by the State, rather create your own values.

You speak of good emperors, good presidents, good kings... yes, good for whom? For the herd, perhaps, who fear the burden of their own freedom and gladly kneel before a ruler who promises order.

No, it is not I who am defeated, but those who still believe in this dream of better governance.

Lots of high-minded ideals.

Very little practicality, or acknowledgment of how the world is, rather than how you’d wish it to be.

What is truly impractical if not this endless cycle of governance? You believe yourself worldly, yet you are the one clinging to a fantasy... that power can be tamed, that the State can serve something higher than itself.

You call it "high-minded," but it is you who seek comfort in the low, in what is, rather than in what could be.

You both are on the poles. The middle way understands that it is strong individuals that make upa strong community and it is community that empowers individuals.

The “state” as we know it is a top down distortion, seeking to exert its morass and absorb genius. The hyper individual is a reaction to that, but no less preposterous.

Voluntary consensus is the embodiment of natural law and middle path. We must work together and only do so because we know within ourselves that our individuality is only existent in reflection and co-operation. Fortunately we now have a voluntary consensus network that engenders both individual expression and win-win consensus. by simply existing it changes the incentive structure. Bitcoin is the voluntary consensus network.

So grip tightly to your ideologies if you must, until you realize it’s all just a game and now we finally have an equal rule set applied to all.

Indeed. The Middle Way is the way.

It’s less about being on one pole or the other, and more about simply acknowledging reality as it is, rather than as one would wish it to be.

And the way knows the way. So we can relax… a lot.

🤝

actual cypherpunks: fiat price doesnt matter, what possible good could come from governments owning Bitcoin?

Bitcoin is a ponzi scheme. It has no value other than the temporary speculative type. The crypto traders are amateurs, gamblers, and scam artists. It's a disaster waiting to happen. Everyone knows it.

A Ponzi scheme has someone at the top of the pyramid. Bitcoin has no such hierarchy.

True: Bitcoin isn’t a Ponzi scheme, but it is a pyramid scheme!
