Cant you just use a phone?

I don’t have an Ethernet port on my phone.

Get a usb-c hub with Ethernet 👍 should work just fine

Interesting approach, thanks. I’m still on the router tour with standard VPN that I could also use as a wifi receiver. Need that quite often in general. Issue with phones is the other data, I would want it stand alone for mining setups that run remotely.

There's also LAN to wifi things, so you could use a wifi hotspot. But USB-LAN hotspot on a cheap android / grapheneos phone seems easier.

Usbc hub -> usb to ethernet

Gl.inet routers are quite good, but to my surprise there is no model yet tgat supports eSim. Could be tgat they’re working on it, as the hardware supports it. Is a eSim USB dongle an option?

Hmm do eSIM enabled routers even exist? I have a TP-Link M7350 which I used in Australia and worked great but it only takes regular SIM cards.

Maybe you can use a physical eSIM? (A normal sim card that has eSIM functionality). That will give you a lot more options for sure.

Maybe is this something you can use?

I'd use any openwrt router that can change IMEI because why not.

If you can't find any esim capable yet, use esim.me, privacy considerations apply

Gl.iNet maybe

It looks like JMP is working on an eSIM adapter, but without KYC and with open source app:
