I have found that to get the gear you really want, you often have to make it yourself.
Oil tanned leather, saddle stitched by hand, hand peened solid brass rivets, eyelets and paracord for external attachment of knife and mesh radio
This will now be my daily carry bag.

most big box stores and manufacturers do not have your needs in mind. they are looking to produce a halfway passing decent product with as many cost cutting measure as they can muster without pissing the consumer off.
youll find the need to make extends well beyond gear in to food, homes, everywhere really.

This was my first real bag. I started with a free pattern from a YouTube video, and I added several lashing loops and used a completely different strap design.
I've worked on it about every evening since Saturday, so probably close to eight hours altogether.
