For podcasts, do you prefer to listen to the audio version or watch the video version? Or does it depend on the specific podcast?

Audio! Best for car play
It depends on the podcast but also if I’m multitasking while listening. If I have time to watch something I would watch the video, if not then just audio
Audio on fountain always
I will never go back to Apple Podcasts now that I use fountain
Fountain is the best!!
I actually prefer apples podcast app to fountain in many ways. Not a fan of the latest fountain update at all
audio when i run, video when i code
Depends on time of day.
For instance I may start an episode of your podcast while out and about on fountain then finish it on YouTube when home and on the Roku.
I’d say I’m mostly fountain/audio.
Generally video version, but it's always good to have both possibility depending on where you are and what you are doing while watching/listening 🤙
Optionality is key
I actually disagree with this. Podcasts usually suffer when they have a video version. The mind subconsciously performs for the video media and leaves out cues they'd have in audio only. Not to mention showing a screen or graphic. I've found podcast quality has dropped since video became standard.
for podcasts, definitely audio.
video should be brief segments (measured in seconds or minutes, not hours or # of LoTR movies) as it requires full attention.
if in doubt, think of all the in person meetings that could have been a teleconference call or an email.
if the editor doesnt respect the audience time, then it just isnt worth it.
Depends on whether or not there are important visuals.😃
Audio for 99% of podcasts. Strangely I have been watching JRE on YT now that it’s back. Maybe it’s the nostalgia with that though
Audio, sorry, love ya but I ain't sitting around watching you talk. I use this for driving, the gym, running errands etc.
Feel that
I listen to a ridiculous number of podcasts weekly, so for me it's audio or I'd get nothing else done. Listening to your chat with American hodl right now 🤙
Hope you enjoy it 🤙
Well, in my case I guess it depends on my location, i.e. when I'm at work I listen to my favorite podcasts but when I arrive home I enjoy watching the video highlights.
Audio. I only do podcasts while I am doing something else: driving, exercising, yard work, etc.
Depends on the podcast. If there's a video version that doesn't have long audio ads (ahem...WBD), then I listen to a video.
Audio. I only listen to podcasts, even video ones (automatically transcode to mp3)
Audio only. I'm usually listening while working, driving, etc.
I’m a man on the go… work, chores, DIY, errands with my son, etc… Audio Maxi…
Right there with ya
Depends on cast and hosts. Some I can only watch, some can only listen, and some can go either way.
Audio almost always
audio. unless they keep talking about charts/articles that i cant see and i want to see them
Audio. I gotta multitask and I can’t measure and cut gawking at a screen
Audio. Who has time to watch a podcast?
Audio, definitely. Having any video on distracts me from my work.
Audio and if it's killer, I want a transcript! Having a transcript available is a big win.
Almost always the audio. Unless visuals are an important part of it.
Usually Audio, unless I have a tv room to myself and screencast… which as a father of two, is almost never 😂
Usually audio while working outside unless chart heavy
Actually it depends on the CONTENT of any given episode. If it's a monolog episode, I'll listen to the audio (and likely mow the lawn or some other mindless activity), if there's ANYTHING visual, or if it's live I'll usually watch the video.
The only time I listen to audio podcasts is when I am doing yard work. 95% of the time it's the video version.
Audio. Only time I do video is when Matthew comes on TFTC
Always audio. Video only on a second listen if there are graphics/charts/etc
It depends on circumstances. In the car it's audio, when bottle feeding it's YouTube on TV 🙂
