You have no idea how hard I fought to try to convince them to federate Truth Social. They hated me. At one point I told my coworkers to drink every time I said "federation" at the bar with Devin. I asked him when we were going to decentralize and he said "we're already decentralized, we have people working for us all across the world"

It is constantly surprising to me that 'free speech influencers' are not all on nostr.
There are people who talk every day about the problems of censorship and centralisation but refuse to take an active role I'm creating or participating in free and open internet they claim to want.
They probably don't know about Nostr to be honest, but if they've heard about it and not immediately dove in, then that's an entirely different story.
In my opinion this is not a valid reason.
There are people in a promenant role who can correctly identify the problems but seem to do minimal research into fixing it.
They can put together well researched YouTube videos or do endless hours of podcasts on Facebook and twitter cencprship but they can't google "censorship resistant social media" every few months to see if there is an alternative. I just did and nostr was the first result.
Hell, I knew about Nostr back when it WAS being proposed as a Twitter and Mastodon alternative back in 2020.

He probably just doesn't know about nostr? There are also a lot of projects advertising themselves with censorship resistance and decentralization so it must be hard to figure out which ones are scam and not if you're not a technical person. He'll probably know about nostr after the conference though, if he sticks around and talk to people.

It's a good question. I think his main reason may be that he's trying to pull in new people from the mainstream, hence his heavy use of YouTube for the start of his episodes, and he's a strong partner of Rumble so he uses their platform Locals for his awakened wonders community chat groups. But certainly would be worth making sure he's up to speed on Nostr and to see how it might be useful for him.
