It appears to me that human civilization has reach a point where any step function advancement in broad digital fidelity AND material science / physics are now both predicated and dramatic scaling of energy output and the corresponding asymptomatic collapse in the marginal cost energy.

Until we shift focus to achieving this everything put forward by industry as “the next big thing” will only be idiotic and dystopian.

Glass made you look like an asshole. If people had a problem with insane surveillance, they would only use Pinephones with the hardware switches, and then put them in faraday fabric pouches and bags. (This is how I use my cellphones — phone goes in the pouch, and then goes in my Silent Pocket backpack.)

Really, there’s not much difference in surveillance hazard between the glasses and a normal cellular phone. Google glass just looked retarded.
