The only way my family has managed to avoid scammers impersonating me is by knowing how I speak to them, which words I use, etc. That is the last line of defense. Once AI learns that, hell will break loose.

its coming, almost here :\

... and then there is meatspace.

It's getting scary out there, I heard a story of a girl and her mom and the mom got a call from someone she thought was the girl and they said they needed money in her daughters voice, she almost sent it but then called the daughter directly and found it was a scam.

No more trust. Only verify.

Hi Vitor

Yeah concerning scams. Nostr is full of them. πŸ₯³πŸ––βœ¨οΈπŸ”₯

I don't get it? how are the impersonators talking to your family? your family is answering the unknown numbers phone?

It's 2025, don't answer your phone and leave the voicemail on. Tell your family to be smarter.

Have a safe word.

Introducing Nostr Mobile

A wearable device that you blast down a line, to prefixes all calls with horrendous noise like an amstrad game loading, that proves you're you (somehow)

Perhsos thinking on something you'd never say would be the smartest thing…

Perhaps*

Only way to beat this is to have a code word with a pre determined answer.

I have been spending many hours thinking about an nostr based app called Proof.

A unique nsec is created in app. Only able add another Proof npub with a safeword to a nickname via nfc tapping in real life.

You ask for Proof if you get a phone call etc.

Only the Proof app would be able to generate the safe word of the nickname and send it as an encrypted dm.

Might I suggest using cryptography?

WhatsApp is end to end encrypted :)

It looks like you need adding signatures to your encryption.

There are few imposter pretend to be Jack Dorsey , be careful.

I don't think AI can impersonate me, because I barely talk the whole day 🀣

I thought too, but the last one knew details I never spoke to anyone online. I am not religious ( so I never talk about this ) but the scammer knew who was my godmother.

Contacts must include npubs πŸ’ͺπŸ‘Œ

But can it manage to impersonate my five other personalities?

IRL will regain back it status.

It will be easy enough to prove your identity before each interaction with cryptography. This will become the norm pretty quickly, I imagine.
