What is your go to tactic when you can’t go to sleep? Count to 10,000?

I’ve heard an interesting one where you do random number generation. 21, 77, 53, 49, etc

Never worked for me but maybe some..

Go to bed early, get up early, have an active day.

Lol no because I'll for sure stay up counting all the way there.

I just close my eyes. Works every time.

I concentrate on keeping my third eye closed

Try to remember what you did you today, last week, a year ago, 5 years ago, eventually there’s a transition my brain does from piecing together an immersive memory to piecing together an immersive dream

Not be bothered. Think about something that interests or puzzles me. Or some philosophical questions. Or write down if something keeps bothering me.

Lay down

Eye mask. Both a big physical spect of blocking light but also psychological push and having that specific sleep habit you do every time.

Focus on your breath. If the issue is a restless mind in the likes of thinking about a lot of things: grab a paper and write them down.

Meditation

If you like counting, bring it to your breath.

Count the length of your inhale and match that count with your exhale.

Directing the focus on your breath will help keep your mind from wondering and you don’t have to count so high.

Definitely avoiding screens. Put your phone into do not disturb early at night like 8pm. Try reading or journaling before bed instead. I think best you can do is create good night habits and you'll have less of those nights. What I have experinced first hand. I sleep much better now

I lay in bed and think. Doesn't always work, but at least I get some time to think.

Double inhale, slow exhale. 💨

Lamenting on not being able to sleep feels counterproductive, so to meditate and at least gain rest seems for me the best option, and maybe a little walk in fresh air.

#weedstr :)

Generally if I really can't sleep I'll just rather try to make good use of that time rather than just lay in bed. Meditating. Sometimes writing. Bit of yoga/stretching. If it's really bad I might fire up my laptop and/or phone and get on #nostr, or podcasts, or whatever interests me at that point in time
