My sister in law is wanting to learn more about BTC.

She's going to read 2 books, listen to 10 hours of BTC podcasts and watch some tutorials on self custody.

Can you shill me the best ten hours of beginner btc podcasts you ever heard?

This is a pretty great podcast for the โ€œwhyโ€ of bitcoin and intro stories from many individual perspectives:

https://fountain.fm/show/hbMMGqXd91Ui2Qclej3P

Has she listened to some bedtime truth from nostr:npub1s05p3ha7en49dv8429tkk07nnfa9pcwczkf5x5qrdraqshxdje9sq6eyhe ?

She owns some but no, outside of hearing me blabber she hasn't researched

Why don't you brief her on your own journey? I think it might be more valuable to her since she already knows you and probably trust you to a degree. Tell her about some of your relevant mistakes and fuck-ups.

I have done this, but my hope is she can get her own education going down the rabbit hole

- Jeff Booth - We are in fold 34: How exponentiality will change our understanding of economics (probably my fav from Jeff Booth)

- Bitcoin is Venice (if she likes history)

- Gigi - Dear family, dear friends (maybe start with this)

- Bitcoin is worse is better (for the culture)

- Hal Finney - Bitcoin and me (for obvious reasons)

- Money Messiah by John Vallis (incredible references and very well written article; I'm hesitant about the title now)

- Anything on Trilema (if she has the stomach for such a dive)

Good luck!

Great, going to use a couple of these

Did you mentioned a while ago they haven't seen Armageddon or something? ๐Ÿคญ

Yes, they are a fertile land of opportunity, want to marry one of them?

Thanks for the generous offer but my wife and I we're getting pretty serious now having a kid and everything.

Not at all. In fact I'm a bit jealous that your extended family is interested in bitcoin. Best I got so far is they trust me enough to let me be. ๐Ÿ˜‚

good call

Yeah, definitely my wife's favorite BTC book.

I think probably early Stephan Livera

https://stephanlivera.com/

itโ€™s not really a beginner thing but I will forever die on the hill that the single most important thing to understand is this:

https://nakamotoinstitute.org/library/shelling-out/

nostr:nprofile1qqstnem9g6aqv3tw6vqaneftcj06frns56lj9q470gdww228vysz8hqpzdmhxue69uhkzmr8duh82arcduhx7mn9qy2hwumn8ghj7etyv4hzumn0wd68ytnvv9hxgqgdwaehxw309ahx7uewd3hkcam28zl started a beginner series a while ago. It really doesn't matter what she starts with. She'll get sucked down the rabbit hole and be forced to find her own path.

Everyone has they're own journey and they have to forge their own path. There are thousands of hours of content out there.

If she's willing to put in 10 hrs she'll find the nugget that hooks her and drags her towards the rest.

Can't go wrong with this list of articles compiled by Anilsaidso, which nostr:npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev has read the vast majority of on Bitcoin Audible. I reposted Anil's list as a Nostr long-form, with all of the available audio linked, here:

If your client can't display the above Nostr URI, here's a regular URL: https://dikaios1517.npub.pro/post/1733001418581/

You think she needs more on the why (macro etc) or the how (tech how it works?)

Equal mix

I know Breedlove gives people the heebs sometimes, but his sessions with Saylor from years ago were very helpful to a lot of people as an intro. IT combines the what is money concept with what bitcoin is. Also, he's hunky so maybe he'll keep her attention?

I thought about it, I loved that series, but she'd get bored. I think it's a little too high brow

Well, then anything by nostr:nprofile1qyvhwue69uhkyat8d4skutndva6hjtnwv46r5dpcxsuqz9nhwden5te0vfjhgcfwdehhxarjd9kzucmpd5qzqxvfqd89dw8kqmrjfaz6zt8gfggcg93p4tm3s2slv4jrszuugfmt74rjkj is good because sometimes just playing with the tech for functionality is a way to learn through practice. Send her 10,000 satoshis to just pay herself with different wallets, that would be a great learning experience.

good idea, definitely including some btc sessions, need to find a good cold storage solution for her. coldcard probably too much, maybe bitkey

but with your comment i'll include something around some app wallets

I forget who said it, but I always tell people to treat it like it's worth 10x what it's worth today and treat it accordingly. You can always upgrade to better custody.

Iโ€™ve got a list of podcasts here and my 2 personal favorite episodes are at the bottom:

the genesis book is so good!

Nat Brunell has a ten minute podcast on definition of terms. Like first episode.

Imo this is a classic

This is a #Bitcoin / #BTC 101 playlist I have been compiling for orange-pilling purposes. ๐Ÿ’โ€โ™‚๏ธ

Now that I'm reviewing it, it could probably be broken up into 101, 102 & 103 playlists because some things are more advanced concepts; it definitely needs updating, but there's some good stuff in there you can cherrypick from. ๐Ÿค™

I wish Iโ€™d listened to any podcast featuring nostr:npub1s05p3ha7en49dv8429tkk07nnfa9pcwczkf5x5qrdraqshxdje9sq6eyhe at the start of my journey. Wld have really helped me understand the enormity of the Global Free Market, not just number go up. A girlfriend of mine is not motivated by number go up, but as soon as I started to talk about the GFM being deflationary and that we live in a theft / control system - she was hooked. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ
