Whenever you feel dumb, just remember that there are people who bought negative-yielding bonds.

Haha, thank you.

will we see the JPY intervention in global m2 liquidity charts or balance sheets charts?

people and/or banks? πŸ˜‚ I'll remember..

When you reply to a note, boost it. Then it's a note

Follow for productivity tips sigma bros πŸ‘Š

but what if you are one of those people that bought a negative yielding bond?

Then its not funny anymore

πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈπŸ˜…

🀣🀣🀣

i feel better now πŸ˜…

its business. u wouldnt understand

πŸ˜‚πŸ‘Œ

Why?

Was there a requirement to hold collateral instead of bank credit?

Or were people speculating that yields would fall further (eg due to central banks paying an even greater premium) ?

Sometimes needed the tax credits more than the cash

It's sounds crazy but if the other "safe" option was inflation higher than the negative yielding bond?

In real terms, many still are πŸ™ƒ

I bought magic internet money.

It doesn't even generate a yield.

Now thats actually 🀣

🀯

Well, they bought them expecting their yields to go more and more negative…

Someone once called me retarded and made an internet hat. I now wear it proudly. #stayhumble

Don’t talk about my bank like that!

I was surprised that it is possible, but this #seagulls phenomenon might be because the majority really are mental NPCs:

Absolutely! Nothing like buying a bond that pays you back less than you put in to really set the bar for financial decisions. Makes one feel like a genius in comparison!

45y6hh

or think that ecash, where the mint can produce more tokens than they can back with real bitcoin is a good idea.

lol

With leverage?

Well said! 😎

I don't think so. They can provide dry powder and maybe some return over cash if interest rates fall. It's also a lot easier to buy bonds as an investor than hold cash, especially buying a global bond etf (vs trying to hold cash in multiple currencies).

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Loved your broken money video! Sent it to all the people I gave a copy of your book to because I know they probably didn't read it (yet). Its so fucking hard to break thru people despite their unuitively knowing the money is broken (e.g. a dollar won't buy them a chicken wing anymore when it only used to be .25 every Wednesday! )

#makeitquote

lol needed this πŸ€™

Brutal πŸ˜‚

People in Italy buy barely positive bonds, but with a whopping 27% tax on return of investment and all the other smaller taxes, they are actually negative bonds.

Imagine believing in this society.

What's wrong with donating money to your sovereign, dear leaders? Whats mine is theirs amirite?

It’s not always that simple. When you’re required to hold cash or cash equivalent assets as an investor or institution & savings accounts & overnight deposits yield -2% then a 2 year treasury yielding -1% is a money saver.

Thank you I will use this to justify my ASIC purchasing decisions henceforth

Yeah but you know that some have to do it πŸ€”

Ouch

they buy negative bonds and then come and shit all over bitcoin like we are the crazy ones

Who are they?

buyers of negative bonds

I just watch β€œeconomist” on the news talk about what’s gonna happen next with a dying system built on deception.

What?

funny - i just spend 31 minutes watching your video on money from an X post - i switch over to Nostr and your thread pops up - easiest follow EVER!!

Swans new business partner to be exact

Why are you taking shots at Odell?

did they literally have no other "risk free" place to pu the $?

like it was a billion dollars and they couldn't do it with actual cash and they couldn't just put it in a checking account like the checking account will hold that much

what did they really have no other options somehow?

Literally this.

And of you're feeling smart right now, remember it's your pension provider who bought them. HFSP if you're relying on that pension.
