Yeah exactly that’s why it pairs so well with Bitcoin, it’s the opposite of fiat mentality and every other social media so far that has the ulterior motive of monetizing everything. Not everything should be monetized. Here it’s just an option and when value is expressed it’s more genuine that way and it’s in an instant a giant relief to find because it’s actually fostering the connections we were promised by the internet.

Agreed. However, I think it remains to be seen whether or not Nostr clients and relays can be profitable. I think it’ll be harder to be profitable without algorithms. But hopefully they will. And Nostr is more than just social clients so there should be a wide range of ways for people building on Nostr to make money.
I am really curious about solutions toward that problem but fully agree 🤝

We might have algorithms on some clients here as well with the difference being that on Nostr, we can opt out of those clients and preserve our social graphs.
