The zapstore experience is much better than the obtainium one. Although I still use obtainium for a fee apps not on zapstore.

Way to go
It is.
I use nostr:npub10r8xl2njyepcw2zwv3a6dyufj4e4ajx86hz6v4ehu4gnpupxxp7stjt2p8 to install Obtainium.
just installd it. looks fun β‘β‘β‘
I install from where packages are signed by the devs. No middle men...
So if packages on zapstore is signed by devs, it's ok. If signed by zapstore I really hesitate.
All these middlemen are vulns and an attack surface.

Truth
They're two completely different types of apps. One is an app store, and the other is a universal installation and update tool. I don't see how replacing Obtainium with ZapStore makes sense given the limited number of apps the ZapStore provides, and the superior installation and update functionality Obtainium uses.
I would like to switch only to nostr:npub10r8xl2njyepcw2zwv3a6dyufj4e4ajx86hz6v4ehu4gnpupxxp7stjt2p8 but it's never giving me notification for update, while Obtainium poke me about updates all the time, so I update all from here often.
Also it would be neat to be able to add any app from Github on ZapStore like on Obtainium. A lot are still missing.
Make an issue here for any app missing:
Is it enough?
Thanks!
Yes I think so, right nostr:npub1wf4pufsucer5va8g9p0rj5dnhvfeh6d8w0g6eayaep5dhps6rsgs43dgh9?
LFG!
Thanks Max, this is great to hear!
To address some of the comments: yes, Zapstore is not a full Obtainium replacement for now so they can be complementary.
Managing relays is a priority for this year, and at the same time I started designing a "proxy relay".
Early stages and not an easy task - but the idea is you will be able to add this github-proxy relay and through the usual Zapstore UI find any APK on Github. This approach has important tradeoffs that I'm thinking how to present to the user. (These relays will be signing with their own keys)
And yes, this means we will be opening up for anyone to provide an app relay and easily add it to Zapstore - something that today it's only possible by forking the app.
