Switching from carnivore to high carb was the biggest change, but we'll worth it. My testosterone dropped from mid 550ng/dL to 250 after 2 months of trying to cut on low carb.

Switching to high carb boosted my T to over 1000, and has helped out with muscle growth while burning fat. It's crazy that I did that while in a fucking 800+ calorie deficit!

My body has gone into total recomposition mode. My trainer has been so helpful getting through it all!

Wait? I’m confused 🤔

You were doing carnivore and had bad health? What carbs are you eating now? Like broccoli or like pasta?

I’m asking because I’m mostly carnivore. When I travel and around the holidays I am less strict, because I want to eat local foods and comfort family food. I have not lost or gained anything, since switching from pescatarian (3 years ago) to carnivore. The only thing that has changed for me is that my nails are stronger and periods maybe less painful 🤷‍♀️ also maybe less brain fog, overall I feel good.

To be clear, my health was fantastic on carnivore. I did it five years. I had really bad carb addiction from being obese for most of my early life. Carnivore helped me manage a lot of how I eat and form better habits.

I was in good shape but had lingering, stubborn body fat that wasn't going anywhere. So I hired a trainer, and started eating in a deficit. I found it difficult to stay carnivore in a deficit. No energy. So I listened to my body and started eating carbs.

That's where I am now.

I’ve always been skinny and I was eating horrible foods (like 5 bags of m&ms in the morning, cake for lunch, pizza twirlers and snickers for dinner) just to get some curves, then I tried to clean up my healthy because I was worried about the chemicals and bad oils so I was just having smoothies, salads, pasta, fish and whatever I thought was “healthy”, then I hated thinking about everything so I went to just drinking Soylent, then I kinda “grew up” and realized pescatarian was comfortable to me… now I’m doing carnivore because I actually did the research - unlike in my youth, and feel it’s sustainable for me, everything is just as is. Either it’s organic, grass fed, grass finished, no GMO or it’s not lol.

But honestly learning what to eat for fuel, for the brain, for our joints, to prevent diseases like parkinson's and so on has been a journey for most of us. I’m really happy to hear you feel healthy and now physically getting to the goals you want.

This really highlights how we are all unique and our past diet and lifestyle choices impacts our present state of well-being.

That's why I like Ayurveda...it's an ancient system and maps everything out. It considers everyone as having a unique individual constitution and everyone has their own journey...

My constitution is similar to Duchess (Vata). Never had to worry about gaining weight.... history of overindulging in sweets and preferences for fast food over spending time to cook a balanced meal.

I found that excess sugar and alcohol made me gain weight and would impact my digestive fire and create toxins. Luckily I was very active with a 2 hour yoga asana practice throughout my 30s and 40s. Exercise increases digestive fire and burns toxins. Ayurveda is about finding the balance.

Currently, still following Ayurveda... Omnivore diet, exercising daily (yoga, biking, salsa dancing) and being mindful of sugar and alcohol intake 🙏

I weighed 98 lbs in high school... I now weigh 103. At 5'1", I believe my ideal weight is 100lbs....so maybe I'll cut back a bit on the holiday treat 😂

this generation really needs holistic thinking. too much western compartmentalization and fad following.

For me it was not really fad following but literally just trying to figure what is sustainable and what would help me put on a little weight. Now that I’m older I know that it’s not about how big or small I am it’s about how I feel (energy wise) and what my blood work says. I have found carnivore gives the best results in my blood work, not low in anything at all.

Really interesting...im mostly carnivore-ish (have been strict in the past) and have always struggled with the last lingering bit of spare tyre!

Do you work out? I noticed that when I was walking my dog (doing 10 k steps a day) I was in my best shape ever

Yeah I have a trainer right now monitoring exercise and nutrition. 4x per week. I've been building good muscle mass in this cut!

15-20k steps per day too. Vital!
