I wish I had a way to talk to my iphone frens. They keep trying to group message me, and it ends up being this weird MMS thing and doesn't work. I'm pretty sad about it. Should I just "buy an iphone"? What a waste of elite metals, slave labors and stolen development hours. π
Seriously, is there any way to talk to them? Like some kind of iMessage emulator?

Same here. Unfortunately I just get left out, I've gotten many of them on signal but it never gets the whole group so they never use it. I haven't found anything that actually works to solve this issue, Apple has it pretty locked down. I have friends who have "just bought an iphone" and tried carrying a pixel, but eventually just went to an iphone reluctantly because having 2 phones is pretty difficult.
What message app are you using? I have group chats with iPhone users that are fine, using the stock app from Google.
using google messages yeah, it just stopped working recently.. (or started working worse).
Try to attach yourself to as less Google products as possible. It's an evil company not carrying about their users. This site speeks for itself
Check under message settings/advanced. Make sure group messaging is set to MMS not mass text. Other than that I'm not sure.
They should just let people pay $2499 or whatever to just "download an iPhone" for Android. Just one massive app with all that goofy shit in it.
I think certain messaging apps handle this differently though. From what I recall, Google messages handles a mix of devices quite well for SMS/MMS. The basic FOSS messaging apps are quite shit though regardless. They handle pretty much nothing well.
They should be able to talk without problem with the RCS protocol activated between IOS and Android users.
I think of getting one for the camera. If you don't want to get one then choose one to be your ambassador and own being the wise, slightly-withdrawn one.
