No one ever understands when I try telling them about China (in the US). China has an actual free market. You must see it to grasp how not-free America's market it. People there... Get this, this wild, man... People there **_start businesses._** In fact, everyone I knew there had a business, even if they had employment somewhere else. Everyone, not one exception. You can walk into actual businesses, little shops that have nothing to do with franchises or government. Shop after shop after shop... And a couple streets over, its factory after factory after factory. They're not uptight about you just walking into a factory and looking, either. Would that fly in the US? I doubt it, if you could even find one.

If you're in the US, look around and see how many businesses or friends are employed by the government, or who's employment would disappear if the government stopped paying somewhere in the chain. Even dog sitters would lose their income if the government stopped paying the business the dog owner is employed at. Small businesses are forced to franchise - that's basically a business on top of a business that only exists to manage the layers of compliance and regulatory burden. Franchises don't exist in free markets. Got some economic reason to disagree? GFY, I know my econ. The whole facade of "free market" in the US is more entry barrier than market.

The town I'm in is "growing" - there's "progress" here, as the boomers call it. That's only for one reason - there's a university with several tens of thousands of kids there basically being employed by government policy to sit there and grow their debt. That's their job. Every year there's over ten thousand 18 year olds showing up who signed a thing that exchanges their productive potential for a giant pile of debt. That debt is the only reason there's roads being built here, after several layers of corruption where bureaucrats or companies that are paid by government take a cut. And after the road is built, all the businesses that appear are franchises. You know who they pay rent to? The university. The town is owned by the university, literally. And it takes one or two **_years_** to build anything here. Nothing takes that long in China. Nothing. Free markets are wild!

Oh but China's BAD!!! Orange man : "CHIIIINA!!" There is one reason for all this anti-china rhetoric and protectionism, and its not geopolitics or containment. Its debt. Not that China owns our debt - that's the usual thought stopper when I talk to "conservatives." Without inflation, our debt can't be serviced. The payments on American debt **_at all levels_** require inflation, or the payments stop. Even your mortgage and those kids' student debt. But especially the $37 trillion of federal debt. Inflation makes payments manageable because if everything costs more after the debt is taken, including wages, then its like you borrowed less. This is why it's smart to use debt - take as much as you can, cuz you're fucking the lender. That's the game. But that also means that anything that's deflationary is the enemy of America. China's gazillion factories are deflationary : that makes China the enemy. You buy cheap shit from China : debt doesn't get devalued as fast as the corrupt class would like. Even American factories are America's enemy. Anything, anywhere, that allows supply to meet demand and prices to not rise, is deflationary, and thus America's enemy. That's it. That's the whole story, from why you can't afford groceries up to why a carrier fleet parks in some other country's waters. The beast is driven by hunger ; the hunger of the beast is debt.

I **_wish_** I knew one person in real life who could understand this. Its not even particularly complicated... But people are too busy with their side gigs to think about stuff. I **_almost_** had a conversation about it with a biologist over Thanksgiving. Almost!!! But they thought I was too radical, like maybe I'm a Commy or something, **_because I wanted the government to do less._** lol. We're so fucked.

Very well said and 100% true. A lot of what I was trying to communicate last night is central to this. People are caring more and more especially when you can centralize the conversation around groceries. We all can feel the truth, it's just hard to swallow because it really underlines how much the government is an enemy to the people. Create a meetup and try to find people who want to learn, you have excellent insights!

I literally can't afford to spend time on a meetup. I'm spending far too much time just on nostr. I'm no exception to the problems I wrote here.

The other day you said you no longer want to work for the government. What changed your mind? I'm curious about how the evolution occurred.

Just working for the government is what radicalized me 🤣

I do good work but I'm very bad at understanding social dynamics. So I was finding problems, creating solutions, plugging leaks in the budget, finding miscalculations that shelved millions in taxpayer money.... And people were acting like they hated me more and more.

I am a social idiot so I thought to myself, "I'll just work even harder and do better and then they'll see I do good work and like me!" And instead it all got worse and worse for me. Finally at one point my boss screamed at me, "you're making us look bad!!!!"

And it was a real wake up call for me. It's not that the problems aren't seen or can't be solved, it's that the people in charge have too much ego, hubris, and stakes in the mistakes being made. It's not accidental, it's purposeful. So they can keep power and financial position.

And there wasn't anything the voters could do about it because the layer this happens on sees the voted politicians as an annoyance and just keep them in the dark as much as possible. Happens from national level down to local level.

Creating parallel citadel communities is the only solution I can think of to such a systemic issue so that's my current passion project.

If you wrote a book about it, I'd definitely read it.

But book writing is a waste of time. People font read... Talking to real people, like I think you said you're doing, is way more effective

I'm really impressed with the turnout so far, and also I'm getting more and more excited like, about myself if that makes sense? I know I do good work but I've always had an image of myself as like, a weirdo you keep in the closet and bring out to do a task but no one wanted me to be near the public or the board presentations. I thought I was bad at that but I think I'm actually quite good at it and I just am lacking political filters so I was dangerous.

I'm trying to start my own thing now and so far it's been really cool and fingers crossed it works out well and I can continue to make rent and eat these expensive ass groceries 😅

What kind of expensive groceries?

All the groceries are expensive these days 😭🤣

I am a weirdo so I eat the same thing constantly and stores catch on super quickly and the increase the price on that item to match demand. Only there's not a large social demand, just me and my weird brain saying I can only eat this brand of this specific potato or whatever the safe food du jour is.

The routine is the price escalates until I have a temper tantrum in the store and cannot justify paying that much for the safe food and then I just go without eating for a few days until my body's like... Maybe go get this specific type of cheese or whatever and it all starts over again. I wish I wasn't like this but idk how to stop 😅🤣😭

But it's ok at the moment I have eggy in a basket and bacon enough for a few more days at least 🤣

I just wanted to see if you would say “ass groceries”. ;)

I just had eggs in a basket for the first time a few days ago and I’m hooked!

Can't destroy a government on an empty stomach! 🥰😅

Look at that pan.

You ever seen a photo of a pan shaped like a globe?

No, of course not.

You wanna know why?

It’s because that pan is FLAT.

If you’re a globe pan believer, you’ve been lied to be the globe pan conspiracy buyers.

I looked into it and found out myself.

I did the research and it proves what I knew all along!

Is that pan made of metal? It's from the melted down magic bells, that's why there are no more bells in England.

Oh nooooooo the bells and the mud theory 😂

The earth is just a flat circle of mud and lies 🤣

mmmhm. And we should all be concerned about that instead of the real problems. Convenient, divided attention.

What are the real problem besides muck and lies? I have come to the conclusion that the allegory of the cave tells us the fundamental problem about everything we run into.

Yeah, that's the most fundamental, I think. That's also sin, in a nutshell, and ironically its the Christians who are too sinful to understand how. Lol. The other thing I rant about..

Subscribe to my rumble, zap more for such quality content. You're lucky I dominate the trending pages of the most centralized forms of decentralized social media 🤣🤣🤣

That’s what she said

If I was only a shirtless male I could have such a following 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I'm afraid you might be telling the truth 😂

Sometimes 🤣

Use your powers

When I meet the Nostr CEO last year, he started a bonfire with his telekinetic superpower, just like that graphic!

Mostly I just accidentally make all my technology short circuit because I get angry. It just makes me also sad because now my TV doesn't work 😭

That’s so fiat.

SOOOOOO FIAT.

-_____-

Good, TV is a pacifier. Be unpacified.

What’s “eggs in a basket”? Is that a euphemism for something?

Super easy way to have an egg & toast (plus bacon, etc if you want to add it)

Cut a circle out of a piece of bread

Crack an egg into the hole

Cook in a pan at medium-low

Test with a spatula - if the entire egg/toast lifts up easily, it’s ready to be flipped

Flip and cook for same amount of time

Done!

Ah I learned something new today.

It's so good 🥰

You know… you could trade your pets in for some egg laying hens.

1) I could never trade Princess Aurora for anything I would literally go insane I am emotionally dependent on her 🤣

2) when I had an apartment I was regularly trying to organize and arrange things to acquire birds. Chickens are too big and messy for an apartment but there was an account on TikTok that kept apartment quail and I thought that would be a genius addition to my tiny-apartment homestead.

3) I did keep apartment rabbits too. Those were pets but the idea was eventually to pivot to breeding pairs for meat or angora for fiber harvesting.

One day I'll be steady enough to keep a garden and more animals again. It makes me happy and is the best way to live IMO 🥰

I tasted rabbit for the first time this year… I don’t think I’d order it again.

I’ve lived much of my life trying to remove as much emotional dependency as possible, because it has been a focused source of suffering. But it’s probably no way to live at all 🙃.

Hmm. Eggs are usually a win - verrrry nutricious, all the amino acids and enough cholesterol to build a new animal. An egg a day keeps the doctor away. That thing about apples is a blatant lie...

Beef beats bacon in every category. They pump the bacon full of water to make it appear like more. I'd say if you're craving bacon, that probably means you need to eat more fat, and I don't think it matters which animal produced the fat.

I think the only purpose for veggies is to get the anti nutrients that piss off your gut biome and cause a bowel movement. The gut brain goes, "reeee! Get this stuff outta here!" Which means, in an inverted way, veggies are healthy.

Idk why I'm talking about this. No filter...

You're in good company!!!! I love beef, and it's actually recommended to me a lot at psy-gym because it's intensely grounding. So when I'm getting too in my head and off with the fairies they'll recommend taking a salt bath and eating some steak. Doctors too are usually highly recommending it as I'm anemic.

The problem for me with beef is that 98% of the time it's fantastic, but 2% of the time there's an unexpected texture that horrifies me enough that I avoid beef until people get pushy about me eating it again 🤣

Its how the bovine was treated. Happy cows = yummy. Factory cows is basically eating a concentration camp victim, and the texture is the horror of existence for them.

I think that's a correct take. It's so sad how some cows are treated.

Tangentially related when I was in grad school in Ireland we were driving through the country for a hike or something, and we passed a field that was moderately crowded with cows. Like maybe twice as much as the usual concentration of cows on an Irish pasture, but still absolute luxury conditions compared to American farms.

All these young men who were economics students (stereotypically sociopaths 🤣) absolutely freaked out! Everyone in the car was shouting about how that wasn't right, someone called the council right then and there, it was the most outrage I've ever seen on behalf of animal welfare.

It was honestly heartwarming 🥰

Wow. Yeah econ students are psychos, but rational psychos who I can talk to, so I guess its fine. Still psychos.

I think my favorite thing is when the idea of game theory was torn apart because it was largely developed by running behavioral experiments on economics undergraduate males and they were mostly sociopaths so the idea of the "perfectly rational" response to many situations is literally heartless and insanely anti-social win-lose games.

When they expanded the behavior economics experiments it all fell apart because when assholes are playing dominance games the other people will just take their chips and stop interacting with the sociopaths. The most profitable strategy in a normal community is focusing on win-win strategies not win-lose strategies.

Watching that be clearly explained was absolutely hilarious as a woman who went back to school late in life after wearing the caretaker role often. Like, yes obviously that was never a realistic model of successful behavior in society and that so many people thought it was is the main reason we're in this shitty situation now 🤣

Judge Judy looks like she’s lip syncing to Jump Around by House of Pain, yo

Caretaker role? I think that's rational. Maybe wishful thinking in the current paradigm, but this ain't gonna last. One way or another, property rights will return - either enforced by mobs, or enforced by nature, and if nature, either enforced by market reassertion or by genocide of the unpropertied. Or all of that at once. But in the end, debt will be wiped out, people will live on land, and they will keep their surplus and easily afford the care of their children. So be happy. Genocide and our own deaths will help the world return to normal. Kinda joking, but not entirely, have fun sorting it out :p

Makes me even sadder that I don't have property though 🤣

Not owning property is so fiat.

Property = family.

Not property = genocide

These are economic maxims that belong on the same page as MR=MC

Welp shit, dang. 😬 This is turning rapidly unfriendly. Some of us are the black sheep and shunned from family and also broke AF with no property.

I guess it must be nice for you to be drawing up lists that don't put yourself under "genocide". Good luck with that 👍

What? No, I don't mean it like that... I mean the genocide that's happening right now. We're the victims. Its just being realistic about what this is.

Kip? Kiiiiiiiiiiip! 😥

I don’t know what this means. Expand?

MR is marginal revenue, and MC is marginal cost. It means that over time the cost of producing additional units will become the same as the cost of producing the units, either because opening additional lines of production requires debt that has to be serviced or because competition drives down the price until there's no more delta. Both at sane time, really.

The property part means that you get to keep the fruits of your labor unencumbered. If you don't, then you're someone else's MR=MC, their marginal unit. Over time, people selling their labor will keep less and less delta. That's why it results in genocide and should be on the sane page in the textbooks.

I was a pain in the ass for my professors, and that's possibly why I've never found employment in economics. The incentive structure favors sycophants.

For some reason my autocorrect favors "sane" over "same" and I never catch it in time.

What is the antidote?

Bitcoin.

Or rather bitcoin's the easy option. To do it fully, be like the bitcoiners of past cycles : start a business.

One good property begets more good property. That's occulted biblical stuff... Sin leads to no property ; health spills from one bucket to another.

Feels too easy.

Being a weirdo is a superpower. Having no filter is, too, and people punish no-filter people because of jealousy - they know they stay silent out of fear.

Omg you're gonna make me cry, thank you so much for framing it like that. It's been a really hard year but I think it's because I'm on the right path. I hope so much that I'm being a superhero, that's exactly how I frame it to myself and how I'm framing these talks.

It's not a scary time for panic and dispair, it's an opportunity to be the superhero for our community that we always dreamed of being 🥰

Everything worth fighting for unbalances our life. Good luck.

Thank you friend 🥰

this is nice advice tho

so

one for one out here 🗒️✍️😊

Write your own gospel ; live your own myth.

Thank you 🥰 You too friend!

i wish you luck on your endeavors, im pretty sure you'll be fine at them and be met with success, kip 🌸

Thank you so much friend 🥰

I was just at the store yesterday. 5 dollars for a freaking pineapple, 10 dollars for orange juice. W T F

I get so angry every time I go grocery shopping! But luckily it makes it easy to point out the horrifying economic situation to normies, this makes the orange pill easier to swallow 🥰

They're selling these tiny cans of soda now that are maybe 1/3 the size of a can a few years ago, for $6 and that's on sale.

Luckily I don't drink soda, ever. Just can't help noticing.

Everyone's noticing, we just have to keep them looking at it and not diverting that anger to moon Nazis or whatever next narrative people are saying to distract us from the mundanity of evil that we must fight.

Only the fight isn't glamorous and exciting it's just talking to our neighbors and growing our own food. It's boring, which is why it's so hard to do 🤣

I had this crazy novel idea over thanksgiving, which I told to two biologists who work at the university here. We should be using biology to make businesses that people can copy and move out of cities. That's when I got a little lecture about "we all have to do things we don't like" which was because biologists only study what the government gives grants for.

Uhhh. I'm so frustrated over that conversation... Literally the smartest people in the room, possibly the two highest IQ people in the Texas, and they could not understand anything I was saying.

Damn it lol

?

Just reacting to the post lol

For a while I worked with a community garden group that focused on "urban gardening". A lot of people are now kind of trapped in apartments, but you can grow trays of micro greens for pretty cheap and bougie restaurants will buy them. There's ways to keep quail, rabbits, etc. You can string old bottles throughout your windows to create DIY hydroponic setups that will give your family fresh greens. I'd be curious to hear more about your ideas.

"We all have to do things we don't like" is justifying why they allow themselves to be rode like a horse. If you just wear the saddle, one day the powers that be might give you a lump of sugar. Meanwhile you're offensive to them by even suggesting that you want to run free.

It's a huge problem, and it's by design. It captures our best and brightest and neutralizes the threat they represent even better than the Soviet era gulags. They will fight to keep the bars of their cages in place 🙄

Well said, especially the last part
