Absolutely correct ODELL
Well they're on here now so rip Elon
Seems a bit pointless when you’re one of the most watched social media accounts on the planet…
Do you think he’s thinking “I really hope Donny didn’t see”.
Always best to stay off social media when drunk/high. I’d have thought at his age he’d know that by now.
And here it stays. Forever ! 👀
word is bond
Good job onboarding nostriches to X!
Millions kept screenshots of those tweets forever. It’s not almost the same.?
easy to modify a screenshot, impossible to verify
impossible to fake a hashed and signed post, easy to verify
not to mention it is much easier to archive and mirror nostr posts
According to both statements. Too bad that Nostr is not yet the trend.
Today. In practice, most people opted for a simple screenshot.
Archived on my node
yeah deleting on nostr is right to impossible to achieve
I wonder if he found out something. If it all was a stunt
is this why Elon is not on nostr? ;)
Deleted before subpoenas for slander could roll through
Imagine censoring yourself while promoting free speech 🤮
meanwhile i've seen people begging for a working delete function
primal has a request delete button, relay operators do not have to listen to it but most do
what does a user see if someone responds to their deleted note?
Nostr will not forget it!
We'll store this forever Laura
Idk now I kinda want a Tesla
And this is why deletion should have never been a thing for nostr....
#Nostr has no memory hole.
Nostr will evolve
it is scalable. check my 'tree of relays' post
If anything not being able to delete your own posts is a disadvantage of nostr
So much for standing your ground. I always wondered how he tricked so many people into believing that he stands for something.
we are the future
yeah that's not a good thing
Yes, exactly! The difference with other social networks is precisely this. What you write is engraved in the rock 💜
Would you be opposed to nostr users having the ability to delete their posts, if it was somehow figured out?
we offer a delete button on primal
it works pretty well but its up to relay operators if they want to honor it, most relays do
deleting anything on the internet is lie, you always have to trust server operators to actually delete info
Definitely agree, I've just considered reduced deletability closer to a bug than a feature, but I'm also open to thinking about it differently. To steelman your point, extremely prominent figures not being able to delete their posts increases their accountability, like Bitcoin's reduced privacy increases institution's transparency, despite the ideal end state of the technology being perfect deletibilty / privacy.
we live in a world where a single truth social post by the president of the united states can send global markets up or down significantly, or worse, start a war
we are also in a world that will be dominated by deep fakes
it is insane that we trust centralized corporate entities to provide (weak) authenticity and availability guarantees
Still uncertain whether this is a nostr feature or a bug. I understand nostr is decentralized, so no central authority can suppress free expression. However, the freedom to edit or retract statements is also part of free expression. While users can post clarification notes, that seems an imperfect solution for the user experience.
someone got to him and told him to stfu about trump being a pedo.
