What is everyone using as a knowledge management system? Obsidian, Roam, Logseq, Notion, Evernote?

Do you see nostr improving these in any way, or should its usage remain private?

I’m a big fan of Joplin… basically a FOSS Evernote but all markdown-based. Would love to see a nostr integration

I'm using logseq and it would be great some kind of integration to publish note, for instance.

Collaborative Document, can be cool

Local Obsidian for everything; planning, diary, kb, sketches, kanban

Just checking out Obsidian because I haven't heard of it before.

Any particular shortcomings you wish it had?

Comparing to Evernote, price comparison is an obvious benefit - free for personal use while EN subscription is > $100. Also EN feels bloated and they just dropped Linux native beta support.

Pen and paper. Fireplace for permanent delete system.

😁

logseq. i prefer my notes to stay private.

#SelfHosted #NextCloud server and markdown files. Works on multiple devices with different software and if I ever went to switch to something else, my data is all nice and accessible.

everyone here throwing around software programs and I'm just like...

Granted, their use cases and mine are probably vastly different. I've tried to use digital systems to manage knowledge but it is so hard for me to find stuff again. Things like keywords, tagging, categories, etc make note taking burdensome when you're in the moment.

I'm much more casual with a notebook. I can generally find what I'm looking for again by feel and since there was the tactile sensation of writing it down, I connect with it more and sometimes I surprise myself on how I know where stuff is.

Each their own though. I wanted to share in case others were looking for ways to manage their knowledge.

…it’s searchable, encrypted, and coordinated between phone and computer. These are pretty useful features.

I could see Nostr being useful for personal public wikis. Not a huge audience for it, but I've tried a few of the options out there and none were that great. Nostr could also allow for collaboration for wiki editing, which would be sweet.

Notepad

Joplin. Lets me synchronise my (encrypted) notes over WebDAV with my cloud and is free & open source.

Can recommend.

Obsidian. Get to know Zsolt VicziΓ‘n (https://twitter.com/zsviczian). There's a Nostr writer community plugin. And much more....

I use obsidian. Everything is markdown and folders under the hood. so it will always be supported by some tool.

I use Logseq, I like the idea of having all my notes locally in my device private in markdown format. Additionally I use Syncthing to sync notes across devices.
